You said you find it difficult to challenge the theories of modern historians. Here's some advice: I know it's hard, but trust yourself! Their opinions are not worth more than yours. Of course, they are experts in their field, however, I'd yet have to come across one person whose theories have not been criticised (and rightfully so). Especially with ancient history, we know so little about that time period! Don't be scared to voice your opinions. As long as you have some solid arguments in favour of your own theories/critique you'll be fine. Personally, I struggle a lot more with understanding people like Foucoult, Freud, Derrida etc. because their theories are so philosophical and abstract and I always need a lot of time to really get the arguments they are trying to make.

I am going through my first set of finals for my third year which is stressful, but I really enjoyed this quarter! I learned a lot about what I want to do after I get my Bachelors, I’m thinking of going into Scientific Journalism??? I have a molecular biology major and writing minor and I’ve gotten the most support this year from professors. It really feels like it’s all coming together :,)

Even though you're not as familiar with the primary sources as the expert of your secondary sources, you can still note contradictions and conclusions that you have drawn that may differ from theirs. It is best to deal with the primary sources first in order to develop your own coherent point of view relative to them. Hey Vee, maybe you can answer my question about the grading system because I struggle to understand it (because its soo contradictory to the one in my country). Do I understand it correctly that having 70% right leads to getting the best grade? Or what does that 70% mean? Because getting 70% right in my country would be a really bad grade (everything below 60% is a fail) and I feel like something there is off.
