I do have a story to tell. I'm autistic and there have been times when people mistreated me because of it. A couple years ago, I worked as a Walmart employee, but at the time, I was an online college student. Although, Walmart often got in the way of my studies. Not only that, my managers didn't care if I had a disability or not. They just wanted the job to be done on time. They often blamed me and some other employees for not getting the job done when it wasn't our fault. Some employees were going too slow with their jobs, making it impossible to get our jobs done on the scheduled time. At one point, I just couldn't take it anymore, so I quit and decided to focus more on myself. I don't ever want to be at a place full of employees that create a toxic environment ever again.

I'm glad that Oliver sticking up for himself gave Michael the courage to do the same. No one should be with someone who has so little respect for them. The fact that she put meat in his food to prove that it wouldn't hurt him was both stupid and heartless. The only thing it proved was that she never listened to him or cared about his beliefs to begin with, considering that he told her time and time again that it was about his values and beliefs, not about whether or not the meat would hurt him.

I have a friend who is a vegan, and I would never disrespect nor disregard her wishes, opinions, principles, values, decisions, and morals by forcing her to eat meat or "spike" her food/drink with animal meat products like Cecelia did to her now ex-boyfriend, Oliver.

Oliver and Michael deserve much better than Cecilia and the mother. Glad they left before it was too late. Never let people walk all over you or disrespect you. 😊

I’m not vegan but I can understand how Oliver felt being forced to go against his values. I was once in a relationship where my boyfriend tried to get me to participate in a threesome with one of his friends. I refused and he called me a prude. Needless to say I packed up my bags and left him.

Well i'm a vegetarian and i made it clear to couple of my friends who thought it would be "funny" to make me eat fish or meat, that i would never ever will be a friend or talk to them if they ever tried that. Meanwhile I'm so glad i have that one friend who is willing to order a vegetarian meal for both of us whenever we hangout. He's truly a gem in a handful of rocks.

I understand being forced to eat something you don't want. I have issues with certain textures of food and some don't make me feel well. I was forced to eat these things even if it was something I didn't want. It's not fair to make someone eat something they don't want and they deserve to feel respected for their choices.

No one should force someone to go against their dietary choice

The girlfriend was ridiculous. She was so unnecessarily dramatic when she said it was hard to cook for Oliver. It’s not hard to cook a vegan meal, the difficulty depends on the dish you choose to cook. I went on a Vegan diet with my older brother for about 2 months, and I loved it. The meals were simple and delicious, but there were also other meals that were harder or a lot more work to make then others. But I chose to go for those more complicated one’s. For example I made a vegan bolognese, and the first time I made it, it was great. The next few times, it wasn’t horrible but I just couldn’t make it the exact same, plus I had to replace some of the ingredients and get creative the first time I made it, so I couldn’t replicate the pasta 100%. We had vegan feijoada which I actually still eat, and 100% prefer over the normal feijoada. My brother also made vegan burgers which I also found to be pretty good. My point is, if you choose a recipe that is too complicated for you, then no crap its gonna be hard. If the girlfriend picked a simple recipe on a level that she could manage, then it wouldn’t necessarily hard or a lot of work. Bro she made him a simple breakfast, that didn’t take much work, like she was complaining about, and then she went and ruined that perfectly good meal for him for no reason, just because she had to have her way. If you choose a more complicated recipe like vegan feijoada, or vegan burgers, then yeah it will take more time. Also like Oliver said,she didn’t have to cook for him if she didn’t want too. If she had such a problem with cooking a basic vegan recipe, then she didn’t have to do it in the first place, and could of just ended the relationship, if it was so “embarrassing” for her. The whole restaurant thing was another annoying part for me. Like girl, if you don’t pick a restaurant that gives vegan options, then obviously its going to be a problem for him. Actively picking a steak restaurant when her boyfriend is vegan, and then getting mad at him because she knew he wouldn’t be happy about it if she invited him to the steakhouse with her friends, because again he is vegan, is pure stupidity. “Let me pick a restaurant I know my boyfriend can’t eat at, and if he complains about it I will be upset”. Honestly, this girl deserves to be single.

I have lost count of the number of women who call me a freak for being a vegetarian. Usually when I meet a lady online and agree to meet up I arrange a lunch time first meeting. That way you know within the hour you have to go back to work so if it goes badly there are no awkward silences. I am totally up front and suggest meeting in a vegetarian place. When they ask why I tell them I am a vegetarian. usually they slam the phone down calling me a freak.

I don't hold up pictures or storm into restaurants but I do like to have conversations with people about why we shouldn't eat meat and the harm it does. Been plant based for nearly seven years. Recently I have been rotating eggs and cheese into my diet. Two weeks ago I went out to a fish grill and my date ordered too much food. I had to step in to help her eat her snapper. I had worried that I would get sick since it had been so long since I have eaten any kind of meat. I will go back to being plant based once I no longer crave dairy

Since I’m a meat eater, I don’t force or secret feed my vegan friend to eat meat or any other animal products. Never force anyone to eat meat if they don’t want to.

In my opinion whether someone wants to be vegetarian or vegan should be a personal choice. I personally am not a vegetarian and I eat certain meats and I eat seafood too but I would never tell someone who is vegetarian or vegan to eat meat. Similarly I don't want someone to force me to be vegetarian or vegan. I mean yes I eat fruits and vegetables too.
