I love this so much!! My biggest pet peeve is when these “budget” recipe videos don’t include any spices in the cost because only a teaspoon or so is being used... ignoring the fact that spices can be expensive to buy up front. I tried the salsa and I highly recommend sautéing the onion and garlic, add the canned tomatoes along with something sweet (sugar, agave, maple, you name it) to balance out the acidity of the tomatoes and finish with some salt and pepper (for those who like a spicy salsa: saute some finely chopped red pepper before adding tomato sauce) and let the sauce cool in the fridge.

I was ready to complain about this because these videos always do the same: they calculate the price of the meal they make by grams and all that which I think is unfair and counterintuitive. But this? I can tell you were actually making a video to help people with a low budget not just trying to ease the title for views. As you said in places like America there's no way that much groceries amount to 20$ but also this is probably the most realistic and cheapest video. You even avoided using complex machines that not everyone has. Youve no idea how much respect I have for you as a content creator after this video and how happy this video made me and I'm not even vegan. Thanks. I'll try all of these recipes out.

I love the concept of the five recipes, with one shopping list! This makes it great to plan ahead for a week and reduces foodwaste which is awesome! We will try this definetly at home. I am prepping for the first week with a newborn and I love the fact that your new website shows freezer friendly recipes. If I could make a request for a video, something like this with only freezer friendly recipes would also make a great video I think, not only for new moms but for everyone with a busy schedule!

I love this so much! It's so helpful to see you use different ingredients several times throughout the week as one of my biggest challenges is leftover ingredients. I buy something for a recipe, say a recipe that uses 3 carrots so I buy a whole pack, and I have so much leftover that I never know what to do with lol

I admire your honesty in this video Sadia. It’s really beautiful seeing you speak so truthfully. I think that it can be scary sharing personal struggles. You’ve reminded me that it’s not weak to be vulnerable, it’s completely the opposite. It’s so powerful. This videos given me some strength to think more about my own life. Thanks Sadia.

It's always funny/sad to see that other people's budget videos spend more than my everyday grocery budget (under $20 for the full 7 day week). No shade, it is nice to see these for inspiration. I keep a spreadsheet of cost per ounce of my staple ingredients at different grocery stores (applesauce, spices, dry beans, peanut butter, onions, potatoes, etc.); then I figure out the cheapest place to purchase each item. I make one stop at whichever store has the best fresh produce sales that week, and grab some of whatever of my staple freezer or shelf items are cheapest at that particular store. Dry beans and potatoes are where a majority of my calories come in. I'm glad a lot of people dont have to budget this harshly, but I hope this might help someone whether you do or not :)

Wow, under €1. And that’s even shopping at AH, Holland’s most expensive supermarket. It’s absolutely true though, groceries are very affordable in Holland. I just returned from a short holiday in France, and whilst prices there are not outrageous, I’m newly appreciative again of some advantages of home.
