I literally just finished a batch of shakshuka yesterday! I made mine with soft tofu in the aseptic package. Mine was spicy 🔥 and so good! It's great reheated. Using local tomatoes peppers garlic and onions from the farmers market! Yours looks great too!

I agree, Nektarines are sooo expensive. I bought some organic ones at a farmers market some years ago and they were 1,70€ per piece. BUT they were the most delicious nektarines I‘ve ever had in my life! The way I see it is instead of buying a cup of icecream I buy a nektarine instead, it is around the same price but you are choosing a healthier option 😊 and it is just as satisfying

To answer the question about the K drama as a person with autism: I've not seen the show, but I do get some vibes from how it's been described by you and other folks. My mother runs Encore Studio for the Performing Arts, one of the only professional theater companies in the US where the actors all have either mental or physical disabilities. All shows are original and written to the cast, and one thing that's important to my mother, who herself is an autistic savant, is to show that people with disabilities are not all necessarily savants and that they don't exist to be "cute" and "inspirational" for neurotypes/able bodied people. There's a strong emphasis in popular media showing people with disabilities as condescendingly "cute" or as savants, which implies a dangerous capitalist message that a person with disabilities is only acceptable when they are contributing to society with their skills or behaving in a performative/acceptable way. On the other hand, I'm incredibly excited to see neurodiverse representation in a K drama since South Korea is infamous for being deeply, deeply ableist. For instance, a tabloid revealed that singer Park Bom snuck the ADHD medication she took in the US into the country during the time she was having trouble finding a legal Korean substitute. For years this "scandal" destroyed her public image and career, and there are still people that slander her even after appearing on a show to explain what ADHD is. Any time mental health is discussed in a positive, educational way in South Korea is a win.

About comparing cocktails to nectarines: buying a 15$ cocktail you pay for the experience of sitting in a cool place with a potential to meet cool people. So that doesn't seem like too much, in comparison to a nectarine, that, however healthy, doesn't provide much Friday night entertainment

Eating more fruit has never been a problem for me, my body seems to crave it, when I can I dehydrate or freeze them when they are in season and at their cheapest. My biggest challenge is eating enough vegetables, they go bad so quickly. I can't seem to eat them fast enough so I buy them in small amounts, I keep trying to find ways of making them stay fresh longer. If you have any tips it would be appreciated. I recently tried your hack with the garlic, chopping it up and freezing some of it. I just harvested it from my garden and that was the perfect way to make sure that it lasted, plus its ready to use when I need it, great tip. I think people forget how many regular dishes are actually either vegetarian or vegan, pasta and potato dishes come to mind.

frozen vegetables or bananas are good options. wait till it goes on sale also, do you have "too good to go" in Canada? it's a good option to buy a "fruit box", filled with cheap fruits that go a bit off, but you can freeze it or put it into pudding, porridge, smoothie ...

Yes!! Fruit is so expensive! And similar to you, I noticed I was rarely eating fruit but when I did, I thought “why do I never eat fruit?!? It’s sooo good!” But I can eat a whole thing of cherries in one sitting too, so it gets expensive! And my whole life (until this year) I thought I didn’t like apples but I started trying all the different varieties and now I love them! But not the typical ones… I like honey crisp and pink lady 😋 And apples are more affordable, at least in my area. I love grapes now too. And freezing them is yummy in the summer too. Frozen banana and strawberry smoothies with dark chocolate chips on top is really good too. Maybe some almond butter too. Guess I had a lot to say about this fruit topic 🤣 The meal you made looks so good! And I like to eat my food burning hot too! 🥵

Is there an option in Calgary to buy your fruit and veg directly from the farmers? Like a produce box or something that gets delivered? Perhaps it's more fresh/tastier/more affordable that way? In Australia the supermarket fruit and veg is very expensive in my opinion. It's a lot more affordable to order directly from the farmers 🤷‍♀️

Yesss Extraordinary Attorney Woo!!!! Can't wait for the rest of the episodes! My husband and I are really enjoying it and he's never watched a kdrama before! It is a great feel-good story. I've heard good things from people saying it's a good representation. Also heard the main actress worked with professors and people that worked with people with autism and know all about it. The show worked really hard to show all sides of what those with Autism face from society and really pushed how there is a spectrum and I think it's awesome to inform and educate the audience. With a "wholesome" show as you said, with lovable characters, I think this is a great way to have people be receptive to "new" things they never knew about or were resistant/prejudice against like autism and like you said, lgbtq+ stuff!

Prices are going up everywhere. I happen to be in southeast Tx. The last 4 times I’ve bought blackberries, they’ve been bitter/sour. I had to mix them with watermelon, other berries, or those mandarin slices that come in the little cups. I just didn’t want to waste them. Can’t find the cotton candy grapes anymore, they must be out of season now.

I am autistic. Not a lot of vegans are accepting of us, unfortunately. However, I'm glad you enjoy the show. I think Korea does good autistic representation. I enjoyed watching the original good doctor clips, it was too cute lol. Love on the Spectrum is bad IMO because it pairs us together like we're aliens. I want to be with a neurotypical when I get older, like normal. So if they fleshed that out, I would be okay with it. I hope you keep posting, cuz there's not any online content lately. I depend on bananas a lot as they are around $2.50 a bunch. Compared to $9.00 for a bag of 6 oranges 😨 I think the grocery stores here in Canada are taking advantage of inflation as an excuse to shoot prices even higher. It's so frustrating and stressful. I am trying to eat heathfully and it's sad when fruit is double the price of a bag of chips. 😧

Maybe you dont eat much fruit bc you prefer savory breakfast. Me everyday i eat fruit (today was 3 peaches) (i also ate 2 bananas and a spot of tea a little later) for breakfast, oatmeal sometimes in wintertime but it almost always includes fruit you see. Peaches are also great for the bones, my mother has osteoporosis so i try to take care of my bones. Sincerely, A fruit freak

I don’t eat a lot of fruit but could eat just veggies all the time! I guess I don’t have that “sweet” tooth lol.

I'm so lucky my country has the best fruit! You should watch 'It's Okay to Not Be Okay' - the main female character is quite problematic (and the actress is a real psycho in real life), but the drama is so, so good!!!
