Las Vegas suffered the worst mass shooting in modern US history on October 1, 2017. The Vegas Golden Knights were born just 1 week after the tragedy and have bonded the city more than anything else. The Vegas Golden Knights made history by making it to the Stanley Cup Finals in their inaugural season! This team and the city of Las Vegas are forever grateful for what the VGK team has done to help heal this city. The Vegas Golden Knights Foundation also donated millions to the Route 91 Harvest victims fund and the hockey team in general has been the absolute best at keeping this tragedy alive and never forgotten. The Vegas Golden Knights also retired the number "58" to never be worn and raised a banner to the rafters containing all of the victims. The Vegas Golden Knights won the 2018 Western Conference Championship but fell short in the finals. Nonetheless, this was an unprecedented and remarkable story in sporting history being their inaugural season.
