Transcended football, what are you on mate? lol. You think there were no popular club documentaries before Wrexham? All or nothing, Sunderland till I die? And those didn't have the backing of one of the most popular actors in the world. Unfortunately for Wrexham, I think being in League 1 is going to be a real wake up call for the club. I hope they can keep doing it though, would love to see them in the premier league one day!

@@Sam-gy9vj I am not sure transcended is the right word, but the Wrexham story has reached people who don't watch football, who live in countries that play very little football (United States, Canada, for example). Looking yesterday at YT comments congratulating the club, commenters were from all over the Americas, especially Mexico, across Europe, and some from Africa. I am not sure 'Sunderland till I die' crossed the Pennines, let alone the world. Of course League 1 is going to be harder. You think they don't know this, and will get a wake-up call? Perhaps, really, you hope they fail.

@@TR4zest fair point. They’ve definitely brought more attention to the club given their star power. I just think the amount of money they’re going to need to spend to keep up in the higher leagues is going to be very difficult. There’s a lot of clubs with significant more money than Wrexham. I don’t think it’ll be about the players stepping up, it’ll be how much are Ryan and Rob are willing to spend

Not sure about "wake up call". We've been in league one several times before and reached division 2 , now the Championship, in the seventies without the financial backing that we have now. Time will tell.

@@Wearecustardcreams They won the league and still no-one cares. We know Reynolds gets eyes on the club and he is bloody good at it. No complaints here at all.

I think fairytale is fine. If you told any fan 3 years ago that they would be taken over by charismatic owners who have found a sustainable way to get back to back promotions then it would sound like a fairytale. However I think they're really pushing it when they use the phrase "underdog". As Paul said in the first sentence of thr interview. He expected the promotions.

As you say, the 'fairytale' part is from where we once were - right on the edge of the abyss and just about to go over, when at the 11th hour, this unbelievable stroke of fortune came out of the blue and turned everything on it's head. The underdog bit is the narrative used by the media & the media alone...

You know why Wrexham is getting so much coverage don't act like you're surprised. Even Mullin said he's grateful bcz the owners provided him the platform. BTW hate it or not the owners of Wrexham want the "plastic fans" to help generate revenue for the club that's why Wrexham got 3 Million from only retail sales. This is their model to run the club just because this is new to you and you think you rating on Wrexham's overseas supporters means more than the revenue actually goes to fund the club? Extremely ignorant of you to say things like this.

I understand the Wrexham hate from other sides, but you must admit they are doing a darn fine job of promoting The League down below The Premier level. Other clubs that we over here have never heard of are now know. Every week I study the tables and note who is ascending and who is headed for relegation. I wish our sports ( America, Football, Baseball, Basketball ) had a similar system, versus instead a copy of Formula One: buy in, follow the directions from the league and you are always in regardless the performance. The Hollywood owners got the ball rolling but Wrexham is actually a marketing success more than a league success. All the human interest episodes on TV are much more players family, fans and back office staff. The owners got that part figured out. Consider my local sports franchise I’ve followed since 1962, The Dallas Cowboys. It’s all about the owner. I’ll take what Wrexham has any day. The other thing I can appreciate is the whole fan, community identification, center of social life is familiar. UK’s second religion feels just like Texas High school football here.
