In this video, we will show you important food joints near the famous Meenakshi Amman Temple in Madurai. We went to the following shops:
1. Kerrai Wadai: It is made up of rice flour, spinach and leaves
Evening snack available from place to place in Madurai. Rs. 15/- for 2 pieces
2. Paruthi Paal: It is healthy concoction of cottonseed milk, ginger, black pepper, almonds for treating cough and cold
Location: Anywhere on the streets of Madurai you find this drink. Price: Rs.20/- glass
3. Nai Pongal: It is a popular Tamil Nadu dish made up of rice cooked in boiling milk and ghee.
Hotel Sree Sabarees- Veg Restaurant. Rs. 90/-

4. Uttapam: It is a delicious salty pancake with golden edges and a pillowy soft centre made with fermented rice and urad dal.

neeraj bhaiya , you refreshed my memories wen i did my job in madhurai in 2017 for two years . wonderful thanks to you cover madhurai old cultural food specially paruthi paal and filter coffee . we had four friends in group and used to drink both these drinks on daily basis , wish to go there , i will share this video with my friends also . but bhai you forget to cover madhurai parotta , it is also madhurai pride and also jigarthanda ( madhurai discoverd summer cold drink )

Madurai is a business center, hence like Mumbai hot varities of food are available all round the city market places. Real tasty ,quite cheap . I miss them

#Shuddh Ghee in Tamil is "Thuppa" & "Nei" in Malayalam /Kerela.. It might be "Nei Pongal" or maybe "Nayi Pongal" because in Sankranti.. either it is North /Khichdi, North-East /Bihu, West /Sankranti or South /Pongal.. New and Freshly harvested Grains #Rice, #Daal/Lentils etc are used in the Preparations.. Hopefully, I am correct.. Shubhkamnaye Preshit, Shubhmastu.. UditAalok (Int. Docufilmmaker)

Thanks for your positive spirit. Videos well shot. You can improvise the views yet better. Also I humbly suggest you to ask the local people there to pronounce the correct names of dishes since Tamil is a tongue twister language and difficult for non South Indians.

madhurai mandir ke 250 meter ke andar hi aapko kai hotels mil jayenge , mandir ke charo taraf market hi market hai . madhurai is very busy town 24 hours . hum ruke the tamilnadu tourism ke hotel me ( shown in video ) . 1.5 km from temple near bus stand
