Before reading the description, I want everyone to know that this pilot is a fake and not a real VeggieTales episode, just based on some early sketches of the show from 1992/1993 that will be explained below. In real life, the only pilot episodes VeggieTales had from 1991-1992 were two screen tests "Mr. Cuke's Screen Test" and "VeggieTales Promo: Take 38". According to Phil Vischer's autobiography, before production on the show's official debut episode "Where's God When I'm S-Scared?", he tried to sell the show with the VeggieTales promo "Take 38" to Christian video distributor companies in hopes that he'd get the money to produce VeggieTales, but ultimately failed. Phil managed to get the money from a man at his church who dipped into his retirement funds and gave him $60,000.
Now I would like to present the world's best "what-if" VeggieTales thing of all: A 1992 VeggieTales pilot episode "The Princess and the Pea"! (Imagine THIS being made in an alternate timeline!) This 8-minute pilot short is based on a proposed Veggie puppet show of the same title that Phil Vischer has written in the perspective of a pea. It never made it into an actual puppet show or an episode of VeggieTales, although sketches of it were used to sell the show to distributors at the time circa 1992/1993 prior to the series' start. These sketches can be seen on the Jonah: a VeggieTales Movie Special Collector's Edition book and also in a behind-the-scenes feature on the 2003/2004 DVD of "Where's God When I'm S-Scared?".
