Glad to see your son again. Don’t you just love when they help you with a project? Always makes my heart happy. He looks like he was very thorough and meticulous. Great job! I liked this raised bed. Looks high quality and has a nice finished look. Thank you for the review and info about the seed company. Will definitely check them out. God bless.👩‍🌾💙🙏

I bought one of these 2 years ago! Love mine! I kept looking at the Birdies and decided on Vego. I did buy a couple round Birdies beds last year. No complaints on either. Using my Vego for garlic, onions and peppers. My Birdies for strawberries and maybe some asparagus next year. Love both of them!

I bought the 9 in 1 and really like it. The box arrived with one corner crushed but I was able to bend the corner back into shape and put it together, by myself, in about 2 hours. Put it on a bed of 4 layers of cardboard and filled it half way with as much sticks, logs and pine cones as I could scavenge.

Glad you're expanding your raised bed garden area. (I love that you ignored the instructions which say to assemble the sides and then attach them to the curved ends 😏 Guess it doesn't matter!) I really like the Vego beds, I have 2 round 17" tall beds and one 9-in-one 17" tall bed. The height is great, and they really look good. Especially with the greens, herbs and flowers growing in them! Enjoy yours, sir!

Hi, Scott! I like to add a new raised bed to my garden each year, but my source of free wood dried up last year, so I have been looking at alternatives, including the Vego system. I ordered a Greenstalk planter for my patio last week and after watching your video and visiting the Vego site again, I went ahead and ordered one. I plan to do much as you did, hugelkultur with old logs and henhouse litter. In zone 6A, I'll be a few months behind you.

I bought nine pieces this year and four of a galvanized type still getting wood and soil in them. Easy to put together, I made one mistake on the largest one where my rods wouldn’t fit across. I chose pearl white for all of mine. Luckily I have a ton of wood. I only question my placement dodging trees and trying to get enough sun we will see.

The real question is - how long do they last? The wooden bed lasts about 4-5 years until it rots. The cost to build the wooden bed is about $50-60 for 10ft*5ft*12in. Vego's 8ft bed costs $199. That is approximately 12-15 years of wooden beds. Will Vego last 12-15 years at minimum?

What do you think?

@@nancythane4104 The concrete blocks, at 16" long, and 8" high, are only about $2 each. So such a plan would be cheaper, and I think, the blocks would be cooler, even if they aren't painted. I made a grapevine bed last year, using those concrete blocks, and it's definitely a lot of work. Gotta be careful when buying the blocks, because there are 2 different kinds that are slightly different lengths.
