Yes, but he could’ve had better timing and admit the truth a little bit or maybe way before getting arrested. I think, yes he had a change of heart, but at the last minute. Which maybe have a little too late for that situation. Though, he did better than his sister who isn’t that good person or has a way of becoming famous without stealing talent or ( troll) napping or anything terrible.

I wish they can do that with most villains who get redeemed or see the error of their way. Cuz it's annoying when a villain gets forgiven without going thru consequences. A good example is starlight glimmer from my little pony friendship is magic, like she did a lot of horrible things and during one of the season finales, the main character Twilight not only she freaking offers to become her friend but she also forgives her way too easily. But what mostly annoys me the most is that starlight was willing to accept the punishment for what she did, and that right there was good.... that is until twilight and her friends freaking ruin it by being like "no need to! You're our friend now!" Like.... are you freaking kidding me???... even if it's good to have a villain be redeemed, it's still important to remember that it doesn't changes the fact of the awful things they've done. They need to go thru the consequences even if they are sorry.

veneer changed in the end yeah but he still helped velvet with it and enabled her to literally try and kill a troll for his talent. he deserves less time and maybe in the future even helping them in a future movie if there will be another one ( doubting it tho that theres another ) because i feel like he could be an ambassador for the teenage world ( at least thats what it looks like? like its a world where runaways live as teenagers forever since there are NO adults but they had parents in the flashback of them having dentists as parents ) and him accepting the punishment and prison sentance with a smile knowing he is getting what he deserved too for knowing he did wrong as well and didnt save the troll while he had the chance earlier. honestly i think the choice for veneer should have been given to the troll who was in the bottle ( dont remember his name ) on veneers punishment. since it seems velvet having an influence over him isint where he should be in prison " fair enough! prison it is! I find it rather satisfying when an animated villain understands and admits their mistakes, especially in front of a crowd like we see here. That takes a lot of courage to do, especially if it’s a villain. But Veneer confessed to everything and said they only did it for the fame. Even if he serves time in prison, at least he was honest and knows he and Velvet were in the wrong for what they did to the trolls. Velvet might take a little time to come around, but she possesses the potential for change just as much as Veneer.
