This is why Guyana and Trinidad need to leave behind the Afro Vs Indo-Caribbean foolishness in politics! If we were back in our ancestral continents, we would still be at odds with other Indian and African groups! India and Pakistan hate each other, Northern Nigeria has issues with Southern Nigeria. I hope this issue brings all Guyanese together as one Caribbean family 💪🏿❤

Britain and other Western Countries gave their "Unwavering Support" to Guyana! Unlike India that chosen to "Sit on the Fence" because of expectations to capitalize on Venezuela's discounted oil for Rupees. We shall never forget those that supported us when we "Looked Evil in the Eyes" and faced an "Existential Threat". God bless USA, UK, France, Brazil and other Friends and Allies of Guyana that took a "Stand". Thank you Great Britain!

@@naheedkhanam6340 Britain is di mother country to Guyana. When this entire dispute took place with Venezuela what is now Guyana was British Guiana, and ruled by them. So it is only right Britain will be involved. They still have records of what took place between Venezuela and British Guiana. Plus Guyana is still a part of di commonwealth. So what oil do they want?

UK does not have people to people relationship here but have only turned up for the oil. India has already initiated the process to help build Guyana's military and their President was in India for the same some weeks ago. UK has sent warship and will take it away when their own interests are served unlike India which will directly be helping Guyana military to be self reliant so that they can defend themselves in future. History has taught has that being over dependent on any Western power has brought no good to any developing nation. We Indians have learnt it the hard way hope Guyanese people don't have to go through the same shit.

It was elected according to the rules of parliamentary democracy, and for the last and final time, there is no such thing as "little old England, the rest of the world is nothing to do with us." That's not how the real world of grown up politics works. Are you a 5yr old or what?! How many times do people like you need to be told? Why did Britain defend the Falklands? Why does Britain defend Gibraltar? All countries must defend their friends, if it wasn't for Britain's allies we would have lost WW2. So yes you will "consent" and like it!

The UK is breaching the Peace Agreement signed by Venezuela and Guyana last week !!!.....the peace agreement includes making threats of any kind to each other. By sending a warship to Guyana and Guyana allowing this, is a breach of the agreement.

@@robertomartinez7104 I doubt Guyana are displeased with the support they're getting from the UK, when a country is under threat of being invaded by their neighbor, having rules of engagement centered around arbitrary regional boundaries is only going to favor the aggressor, the UK has every right to stop any countries from bullying / threatening their neighbors.

@@Mavors1099 Yes. Venezuela has had Iranian military groups on the ground for “training”, for some time now. This is precisely why the US and the UK are getting involved. It’s more than just oil. And that is why this warship is such a big deal as well. Russia has been their ally as well.

Because the dispute is unresolved, Guyana or Venezuela should not develop Essequibo until the dispute is finally resolved. Sending a military ship doesn't help the dispute. The guilty party is Guyana for developing in the unresolved disputed territory of Essequibo. This is different from the situation in Ukraine. UK needs to smart up or the Venezuelan opposition will turn against them also.
