What I learned from visiting art exhibitions- MAKE IT BIG and people will appreciate anything. Even an empty box but MAKE IT BIG.

It was a great exhibition, we went four days in a row. The Biennale title didn't know just how prophetic it would be. Back again this year, we can't wait.

I don't like scepticism in art. Art is about Feelings . Emotions. Or you feel like a butterfly in the sky. Or you are feel like heavy earth qwark. But scepticism is the killer of the creativity. By every single exhibition. I have always seen the old man was telling the most not heavy or not light jokes. When they are smilling. I feel the scepticisme. It is nothing. Art can make you feel. But if there is nothing. I will fight with this emptyness with my hands!!!

So much of the work shown is tedious contrivance. People mill around, looking for something that is worthy of more than a 3-second glance.

@@antondavidovic3996 Gimmick is a good word. I find it interesting that the word contrivance has definitions that are in direct opposition. As such it serves as an apt description here. On the one hand some of these pieces or installations require various levels of technical skill to produce, but they also come off as highly artificial (or by extension superficial). That cow circling on a railroad track. Are we supposed to be impressed? Amused? What do people think or feel a few hours after they've left this show?

@@rr7firefly I've visited the biennial twice now and for the most part have been disappointed. Its not that there aren't any works that are worthwhile, its just that their worth can't fully be appreciated due to the cluster-fuck of over-sized and over-expensive "toys". Its akin to planting crops too close to each other, they just end up absorbing water from each other and diminish. Unfortunately there are too many works that come off as shallow "cool new tricks" that lack any amount of humanism, it appears as a giant fair. To me it seems as if the commission of the biennial end up arbitrarily choosing countless works in order to maintain the tradition of the biennial. I would much rather see 10 quality works than 100 gimmicks. What's worse is the tickets for each part of the biennial last for only a day, so you *have to* observe as much as you can in one day, which is mentally taxing and further diminishes the potential appreciation for each work...

@@PolarBear-rc4ks My degree of fame is irrelevant to the quality of work at the Biennale. Being famous has little to do with what an artist actually does. But if it helps you, I have received 2 National Endowment grants, been selected for two traveling fellowships in Europe, had my work shown in museums in Berlin, Mexico City, Seattle, Berkeley and San Francisco. Are you an artist too? If so, good luck.
