Wow. Proper install with torque and good advice on not stripping stuff. Nice to see someone who knows what they are taking about. 👍

Great install guide. What brand/model is your torque wrench kit?
@CalaveraChronicles3 жыл бұрын
Thanks bro! It’s actually a torque wrench that came with my intense carbine when I bought it brand new. I’ve seen a couple of people using some amazon torque wrenches

What gear do I need to be in when installing?

I have a Race Face Cinch on a 2015 LaPierre xR729 (xc, rear suspension, 100mm) with an Osymetric 34t...There seems to be only 2 mounts om the bike frame for a guard/guide. They are con-joined with the rear triangle. Is there a chain guide/bash guard that moumts to this?.... When the chain gets really dry, it starts falling off when I shift to 1st gear. Which guide should I try? The one-up or the absolute black? Will they even work with the osymetric chainring?
@CalaveraChronicles2 жыл бұрын
Best thing to do is take your bike in to a local bike shop and see what works on it. I would hate to recommend something for it not to work. Good luck brother
@ryan_hansen223 жыл бұрын
Okay weird question. What does the chain guide bolt onto? Is it the frame? I’m only asking because I have an older Santa Cruz Heckler (2005) and I’m curious if this guide will work. Something tells me it won’t. Thanks and great video!
@CalaveraChronicles3 жыл бұрын
It’s all good! So most frames have 3 threaded holes by the bottom bracket. If you don’t they do sell some adapters for mounting bashguards/guides. That just get a little complicated because you have to find the right one. Good luck 🍀

Is this a common problem with 1x drive trains? Cuz I see a lot of videos about chains jumping off, but I never had this problem on my 3x.
@CalaveraChronicles Жыл бұрын
I believe so. Easy fix though. It also depends where you ride.
@OOTurok Жыл бұрын
@@CalaveraChronicles I hit the jumps pretty hard on my 26er. Come to think of it... my front derailer functions like a chain guide, which explains why I never had a problem throwing a chain.
@CalaveraChronicles Жыл бұрын
That’s true! Yeah that’s probably it then. Never thought of that

What is the tool kit you are using for this install?
@CalaveraChronicles2 жыл бұрын
The tool kit came with my intense carbine when I bought it new. It’s been used so many times that I can’t see myself without it. I’m sure it’s a rebranded tool kit similar to this amzn.to/3GDJajv I feel like a torque wrench is essential to have when dealing with carbon. Good luck!👍🏼

This doesn’t fit my bike properly. I have a yeti sb6 sram and similar setup to u and with no spacers the chain rubs on the inner plastic. Basically i would need negative spacers to make it fit.
@CalaveraChronicles3 жыл бұрын
Are your talking about a chain guide rub? Maybe try shaving it a bit? My old bash guard use to rub so I shaved a little bit off and it worked great.
@mtbnomad10193 жыл бұрын
@@CalaveraChronicles the plastic guide at the top was a bit deformed. Just spent an an hour in the garage with a file and the drill and just works now. Had to drill out the plastic where the adjustment screw sits so the guide sits flush. Couldn’t be bothered sending it back so made it work.
@CalaveraChronicles3 жыл бұрын
You can always try to email them too. Worse they can say is no. But I’m betting that they will take care of you. I’m sure that plastic part wouldn’t be worth losing a customer
