Hello! Its been awhile since I watch your videos (was moving and classes). Gila Monster has always been a favorite of mine, I love that we have our own native venomous lizard. They are a fantasy of mine, basically an animal I would love to have but will never own. Florida is strict, which is understanding. You need a permit to own one of these, but first you need about 1000 hours working with them under the supervision of an experience handler and you need to show proof of it, I also believe that you need at least 3 references as well. Either way beautiful animal! :)

Welcome back! Yeah FL has a tight system but thats a good thing once you get through it. They are definitely worth the hassle. Best lizards ever! 😁

They do best with options. A range from the 30s to the high 60s is good.

How often should they be fed to avoid obesity?
@ReptileMountainTV
@ReptileMountainTV 3 жыл бұрын
It depends on the individual. Id say every 10-14 days for adults. Its best to base it off the animal’s weights

Indeed that is the hope. The girl is still young so it will likely be another year before we try to breed em.

Do u think it would be ok to house a bluey in a kitty pool?? Also can I use a heat pad instead of a heat bulb for a bluey??
@ReptileMountainTV
@ReptileMountainTV 4 жыл бұрын
What species? Indoors or outdoors? How tall are the walls of the pool? A heat pad does work if used in the correct way. My cage recommendations are on my website care sheet.

If u go on amazon and look up plastic intex pool you’ll find it. It will be indoors as it’s only 48 inches by 48 inches. So I think it will work. Thanks
@ReptileMountainTV

How tall. A skink can get out of anything without a lid that is less than 24 inches.
