This video documents the first part - Southampton to Scotland - of a journey made aboard Venture II in 2012. The footage has previously been uploaded in short segments because, at the time it was shot, You Tube restricted the length of videos to under 10 minutes. Hopefully this longer format will provide a better feel for this exciting journey.

I only found this channel a couple of days a go. David attenborough eat your hat. If i'm not mistaken. These videos were created by Tony fleming himself. Sailing on his own yacht. Built in his own boat yard.I bend the knee Sir.

What a pleasant and relaxing evening you have provided me, form your spot on music, knowledge, photography, your spectacular focus on presentation and your extremely calming voice, all put together in such a natural way as to perfectly match the beautiful natural surroundings you have shared with us. I have learned over time that one must put a lot of time and effort into making these videos and to accomplish such quality, one must love what they are doing. People seem so nonchalant about passing in front of the ruins of a castle in a modern day vehicle be it boat or car. Just seeing these magnificent structures gives me goosebumps, I am so impressed. Everything that I have seen in these wonderful videos emphasizes the cohabitation between the ancient and the modern.

A very beautiful video which I really enjoyed thank you! It seems that you have inherited your great grandfather's poetic view of things. We have had visits to many of these wonderful places, including Jura, Mull and Iona. The guys piloting the tour boat to Staffa are very skilful in mooring at that jetty, it must take a lot of practice and no room for error! The puffins on Staffa were so lovely. Such a wonderful piece of art, thank you so much for sharing. I have sailed those waters many times in my time with The Royal Fleet Auxiliary. I would love the chance to sail them and take in the stunning beauty of the west of Scotland at a leisurely pace like you have. Interestingly, for all the seas and oceans I have sailed upon, the passage from Rosyth to Glen Mallan in Loch Long was the worst seas I ever encountered. Hurricane force 13 in the treacherous Pentland Firth with it's 16 knots tide is probably the only time I have ever been in fear of my life at sea.

I really appreciated your straightforward approach and you sound very much like people I grew up with, and adventures I have had. At 78, soon to be 79 sailing alone for me is no longer an option, and although I held a USCG 100 ton ticket years back, I am no longer qualified. But your documentary certainly brought back many memories and for an old man, DrakesPassage on a cruise ship was spectacular.
