Venus Raj is such a breath of fresh air. On pageant night, it was very apparent that she was VERY HAPPY to be on that stage. Ten years later, this happiness still comes through in her interviews. Nakakatuwa at nakaka-inspire lang talaga.

Let’s admitt it. Social Media played an important role for her placement at Miss Universe. Year 2010 was the year where the use of social media become much prevalent and updated. So how did the social media helped her? The controversy about her dethronement due to her birth cirtificate inconsistencies and citizenship. This made huge news that garner a lot of attention to both the local and international news. It even reached the Miss Universe Organization where in they made a statement that as long as the representing delegate win the national title or was designated to represent the country, then she is eligible to represent and join the pageant. Eventually the Bb. Pilipinas decided to made an agreement with Venus, as long as she is able to obtain a Philippine Passport, thus her reinstatement. The news made a lot of public attention, therefore making Venus’s presence in the Miss Universe pageant more evident and as a result, many pageant experts, critiques, and fans have their eyes on Venus. Let’s say Venus became more popular even before the start of the MU pageant. It even gathered her more fans, supporters both in the Philippines and internationaly. I am not questioning and doubting her eligibility nor her beauty, with regards to her placement in the top 15, she really deserved to make it in plus a her perfromance in the preliminaries was outstanding but it is very obvious and somehow we must be thankful for it that Social Media really helped Venus’s chance in making it to the cut. This secured her chances.

When Venus placed in Miss Universe that was the time that I've become a SUPER pageant fan. It opened my eyes on how incredible pageantry is to the point I've became fan of national pageants outside Philippines such as Miss Venezuela and Srta Colombia and thats all because of Venus not to mention her placement brought and created a lot of opportunities for everyone.

I was super super cheering for her, I can't forget I was puyat fr work but I didn't mind because I wanted to watch Miss U. I thought her answer to the last question was dumb but maybe nerve got into her but looking at her now, she's super super smart.

Venus Raj was definitely a game changer for Philippine pageantry as a whole in the 2010s with her run to a fourth runner-up finish in Miss Universe 2010. But how Venus Raj arrived in Las Vegas for Miss Universe 2010 is a story of in itself. By 2010, Binibining Pilipinas was at a crossroads coming off an entire decade of unplaced contestants in Miss Universe. Madame Stella Araneta and BPCI knew they have to get it right for MU 2010. First, Venus was crowned as MUPH 2010 and then, was dethroned because of alleged inconsistencies in her birth certificate. That would've been the last straw that broke BPCI's back because had their replacement Nicolette Henson was unplaced in MU 2010, you would've seen a lot of Filipinas turning their backs on Binibining Pilipinas forever because of their shady dealings and join rival organizations like Miss Earth Philippines. That's when the PH Department of Foreign Affairs stepped up to the plate and unleash the Jus Sanguinis principle that forced BPCI to tap out and reinstate Venus to the MUPH 2010 title. Look at all the success the Philippines had in pageantry in the 2010s. None of this wouldn't happen had Venus Raj was placed in Miss Universe 2010.
