Good video, thanks. Christian, in the US, there is only 2 vehicle battery makers ; East Penn and Johnson Control. All the different brands label either makers brand as their own. There are ways to tell the differences between manufacturers. Quality differences can be there but not really noticeable visually. Best way is by weight. For flooded batteries, lighter is an indicator of lower power (amps) and less life (less lead).

JLR used that style of locking wheel nut for a while. They are hopeless and I had to get one removed from a Jag by a specialist as when they break they just spin, even with the original unlocking nut. Best replaced with McGard style, which is what newer models now use as well. Great video 👍

Low mileage (kilometerage?) and loaded! Nice! I was surprised to hear your excitement for the auto stop/start feature. I've never owned a vehicle with it, but it's a feature that I've always dreaded. I figure it adds complexity and probably extra wear and tear on the engine, while the benefits are minimal (unless you spend a lot of time sitting in traffic, of course).

I bought an LR3 in Istanbul about 3 years ago. When I moved from Istanbul to Berlin in 2022, it was the only thing I regretted selling. After 1 year waiting for the license, Now I'm making the 2nd meeting with the seller to get an LR4 tomorrow. 2011 model HSE w/out panorama, at 200,000 km , full checkbook in land rover service, 14.000k EUR. Now I'm going to make a checklist by watching this video for the 3rd time ! and impersonate you on the appointment tomorrow morning :)

Got my Disco 4 3 years ago, black HSE similar to yours Christian, to replace my hard working Disco 3 and it’s by far the best car I’ve ever owned. We live in the midlands in the UK and have a house in the south lot France plus a son at university in Strasbourg, the D4 is not so much a mall crawler for us but an absolute mile muncher. The record so far is 17 hours I one go across Europe, the D4 just lapped it up. If you are prepared to pamper them they pay back in spades, enjoy will be watching to see what you guys do with yours 👍👍

i have a 2010 disco 4, 3.0 TDV6 HSE, i bought it in the Uk i;m British. i've never had a problem with it despite all the holidays in Ukraine on the appalling roads here. I took it to Ukraine on the 26th Feb and started evacuating families over the border at Uzerhorod. Driving thru the Carpathians every day fetching and carrying about 300 people thru ice & snow, minus 25c. Then i went to Odesa and drove from there to Constanta taking more families out and bringing in supplies of food, military kit & meds. Day in day out the vehicle was beautiful, handling superb, fuel economy not bad averaging about 8 litres per 100 kms. about month 4 of the year i was ferrying soldiers out to training camps where we instructed them in NATO methods across severe terrain for 5 weeks. Had to change the suspension bushes and some sort of arms and the suspension was like new. The Prop Shaft rattles a little and needs changing. Only broken item is the rear washer has stopped. Thing with these amazing vehicles it to service them regularly, Taken on board your advice vis a vis Oil! Still here and hauling people and stuff around in Nikolaiv. Our work has changed, the chaos, panic & fear is no longer and the vehcile keeps going. Winter is coming but a Disco 4 can handle that...

I just bought a 2014 Land Rover Discovery 4 LR4 to be delivered in about a week. I've always been a tinkerer, even with our Mercedes vehicles. I really enjoyed this video, because I'm always looking to save money on minor vehicle repairs. The banter between this lovely couple is also pretty refreshing. Looking forward to learning a few Land Rover tricks. I once had a 2001 Disco 2, but didn't keep it for very long. Ready to have some fun with the 2014.

Before I bought my LR3 I had a MB CL and before that a Discovery 4 which I bought of a Russian in Dortmund. He even drove me to Hanau from Dortmund during a snowstorm and I paid 17.800 euros. I had the car and I had a lot of repairs to the anti theft system, the locks needed replacing, the wheel alignment was allover the place and electronic issues some I got to a point where I said enough is enough and sold it a year later for 15.500 euros to two Croatians and boy was that a lot of trouble because those guys falsified my signature on documents, ran uo quite a few tickets before they were forced to re-register the vehicle, and the end I had a lawyer and the police involved with those guys. 😳 I hope you don't regret it too much it might look nice and has some fancy stuff inside but you might ask yourself where does the buck stop one fine day. AS ALWAYS YOU HAVE MADE A GREAT SUNDAY VIEWING , KEEP 'EM COMING

Super Video. Ich habe mir das DAB+ Modul von in2digi eingebaut, somit ist es mit dem Original Soundsystem zu bedienen. Aber natürlich auch wesentlich teurer. Die elektrische Lenksäule ist einfach perfekt, wenn die Fahrer wechseln. Schönen Sonntag euch beiden.

Eco mode not working is a result of the secondary battery fault. - and essential to reset the BMS after battery replacement.

Congratulations on the new purchase. Really pleased the gearbox reset sorted the transmission issue.. And a battery for the stop start system cured that issue.. you lucked out... maybe? 😬 Looking forward to seeing you bring it back up to standard again.. 👍

Last time I went to upgrade my disco 3 to a newer one the garage also regretted taking the trade in. Sale price was 9k and they claimed to have spent 6k to get it to pass our national car test 🤣 I felt bad for them but that’s discos. I’d love to upgrade my 3 to a 4 but I think I’ll just keep it and watch your channel to keep repairing it. I also have a jap Pajero which I am doing up so at least when the disco fails I can take the reliable Japanese.

Love it.. I have a 2015 SE model, same colour. same reliability.. doesn't even leak any oil on the driveway. We love it! And we get to use it heaps in the australian countryside, properly off road.
