(Physical abuse doesn't often come by itself, but you'd be surprised how many people - maybe even you - are being verbally and emotionally abused by a spouse, parent, boss, adult child or friend - and are hiding it well because there are no visible physical signs).
Verbal abuse can have far reaching, damaging effects... it can undermine your sense of self, decimate you confidence, cause you to lose trust in yourself and your decisions, cause you to question your sanity. For real. If you are experiencing any of these things, seek some help or reach out to close friends you trust and talk about it. You need to be able to recognize the signs, and protect yourself with strategies and choices that keep you out of harms way.
