I often appears in the form of another being that stands next to its user, though some appear as weapons (e.g. Hol Horse's stand which comes in the form of a revolver) or extensions of the user (e.g. Yukako's stand which allows her to manipulate/infinitely extend her hair). Hopefully, that makes sense. Otherwise watch a video on it.
