LS, here's a pitch: Get 5 solo q players (gold-diamond). Put them on a ranked 5v5 team and coach them while streaming, like giving play-by-play guidance, it would be a great stream idea and also KZfaq videos. (In hopes the team gets to high diamond or higher in ranked 5s)

This guy is not coachable, which is sad because he is hiring a coach to get better. It sounds to me like he wants to be told specifics of what to do in every situation instead of understanding the basic principals and applying those tools to the situation. There is something like 147 champions in league and there is no way to go over every scenario. Let's say you actually do go over everything, congratulations the meta changes two weeks later. It's more important to learn how to think about league than what to think about league.

Biggest reccamendation is start hindering your fun, Stop making it mainly about the fun part, make it cut into your procrasinating time, Do much more if the unfun parts and think of a concept and tunnelvision on it. Im in the process of understanding how to improve and he is barley behind me from this roadblock. Biggest 2 that helped me:Coaching/analysis videos, And vod reviews. I'm quite sure I finally developed that active thought process to engage in battle. I came from Smash (SUCKED hard, just a random ass Link Main, aspiring to go pro and won only one tournament) and never "thought" about how I approach a situation. I just made my habits run wild. Same with League. Now then finally LS came into my life and I immediately ran up to Diamond in a matter of 3 weeks - but I didn't develop much anyway. What really happened is that my refined approach for battle carried me through the ranks really easily, while being lifted by the basic approaches LS provides you with. And now, I had that "epiphany". Analyzing, refining and honing the specifics of the basics is now easily readable for me - you name it, you teach it, you understand it. But what made me realize it? Casual Smash Bros. xD When I finally consistently beat my greatest rival and am better at the game now than him, reading his actions, predicting his approaches/reactions, punishing his movements... Damn I'm so excited to play League. Because I'm so back at slaughtering everything around me again.

+Ciel It's not about playing the game. It's that people at that age usually have already developed other responsabilities in life, be it finishing a degree, working a job, or even as far as having a wife or something. They cannot dedicate their lives to playing a game 24/7 like a 16 year old with no responsabilities besides high school or something to worry about. They can devote much more effort and time into the game as opposed to someone in their 20s.

Yes, age matters. Your reaction time goes down as you age. Your can still click a mouse but not as fast as other people. Ofc there are some exceptions like Bernard Hopkins boxed until he was old as shit, but they are exceptions to the rule

Honestly, it all depends on the person. Using an age blanket in any situation is never a good idea. My reaction time has honestly improved over time. Mostly because instead of reacting I try to think about what happens so I can be prepared to act beforehand. Therefore when I do react it is faster only because I'm prepared to react.

I FINALLY got an answer to a matter that has been bothering me quite a while. And that is that well I tried 'smurfing' but honestly i couldnt do well at all compared to my own level of play which well tilted me because I am a really competetive player and my own faults does really make me frustrated... but the actual problem was that I am too fixated in that micro game/fundamentals which does matter at my own elo but I am a terrible at CSing, trading etc because I am a support main and secondary a jungler (supportive one) and i play through certain mind games and anticipations and put trust on my team which works well when i duo but well SoloQ is a disaster in low elo for me tbh... But I am happy now I discovered my weaknesses in detail and can fix them right away! Thanks again LS your coaching sessions have given me so much not just in League but in life as well. Just a couple of small questions: What exactly is the difference between damage foresight and range/matchups? One is rated fundamental and the other is rated advanced, but from my perspective they seem to be very closely related. Apart from that it wold be great to have some kind of tier list for the fundamentals. Are there certain fundamental skills that build the foundation for others and that should be practiced at first when you are a rather new player? And inside the particular fundamentals, is there maybe also some kind of sub-skill-tier list that you can work on in order to make your progress more effective? In my youth I played table tennis for ten years and I've got the time in mind when I started to learn it. Fundamentals are someting like how to properly hold your racket, how to stand in anticipation of the ball, then the different actions like counter, top spin, slice, block, service, "foot-work" (starting with the simple side-step, later more complicated stuff like cross-steps etc.) and so on, but still it makes sense to practive i.e. those actions that don't require to control the spin of the ball before starting with something more complicated (but still fundamental). I think that it would be helpful to get some kind of a practical order into league-training, too - especially in the beginning, when it is still pretty hard for a player to keep all these things in mind at the same time.
@markizu1
@markizu1 2 жыл бұрын
Damage foresight is knowing how much damage (obviously estimated) you deal with certain action, for example you know that you can chunk (roughly, idk I dont play annie) 90% of enemy's health if at lvl 6 as annie you r ignite qw and some autos. Range from what I understood is what your enemy is capable of doing but by "enemy" I don't mean enemy champion but rather the player. Having good understanding of range would be for example: I play thresh and my enemy is walking towards east. I know that this player is a good and normally I'd throw q towards where hes walking but because he's good, there's big chance that he's going to dodge the hook, so the good idea would be throw q to the opposite side of where he's walking (because we assume, he's going to dodge). There's no "tierlist" for fundemantals per se, they're all very important and essential for becoming decent player but I know what you're trying to ask. First coach endorsed by LS recommends starting from csing then trading, mouse accuracy and speed, minimap awareness and warding. I wrote "and" because these fundamentals are more or less connected, there's no reason to learn warding if you're not going to look at the map and spot enemy xd. When it comes to spacing I'd say that it's a part of csing. You need good spacing to have good cs numbers. Damage foresight, combos and cookie cutter build orders was never something I'd actively think about during the game. In my opinion first 2 just come from experience and third one you can just check or ask some otp. Yes, your analogy to table tennis makes a lot of sense, there are some fundamentals that just should be learned first and I wrote these down for you. Csing is first because why learn anything else, if you're just weak all the time because of lack of gold and xp? first learn csing, then learn how to deny your opponent csing (trading) then improve at it (clicks) and make sure nothing comes in your way (minimap awareness and warding). I hope it makes sense.

Regarding the fundamentals LS. Many coaches including you always throw out advice for low elo players regarding improving the fundementals with lower mechanically intensive champions so more focus can be directed at them. Does playing these champions allow you to passively develop fundementals better because you can only rely on fundementals or are these champions easy enough mechanically that you can spend more time actively improving fundementals.

Not done with the video, but around when he wants to know about how to trade (or learn how and when to do it), I'd like to think that what he needs is simply to watch pros play the matchups (only laning phase) through vods, since he can then confirm what part he does is right, what is wrong AND learn to think about trading in more unconventional ways (maybe this falls under cheese, but still think it's useful). And the word "confirm" here is important because this guy seems like he knows somewhat what to do, but just need that extra kick to get it into his brain that the right things he is doing is RIGHT, so it for him stays there as a "rule" (This is basically what then becomes ur fundamentals with trading) in the future if that makes sense haha. This is one of the methods I've been using and i ended Master on EUW. Not that that means what I'm saying is right, but i hope it at least can help this guy or some ppl :)

^ Yeah sometimes you just gotta reasure yourself of some things I think that's the best way to do it. I'm like this too. What I do is I reevaluate my strategie if I'm trading enough, taking cs at the same time etc. I can also watch what pros do on my champ that's the best way. Like apdo said, you don't need to come up with everything yourself just watch someone better than you and try to take some things from them into your own playstyle.

This is totally accurate. Another way to do this is to review your own personal VODs with an especially critical mind - basically questioning the origins of unfavorable positions you found yourself in during the game - although for most (for example, the guy in the video and others that he says play the game like a fighter/shootemup) this is a very difficult process.

The thing he want's from us is that we concentrate on the other skills. If you roam a lot, that might win you some games, but you don't improve your fundamentals, so you probably someday hit a plateau a lot sooner than you would if you worked on your fundamentals first. So yes roaming can make you climb, but it is not the optimal way to improve if you focus on roaming.

I would never go and get a coach to watch over my shoulder while playing... I really hate live commentary to my gameplay and the only thing it would make me do, was get me nervous and fuck everything up xD But disscussions like that are pretty interesting.

I think roaming should be in the fundamentals because it is used either to start getting back from a bad matchup or that you snowball your advantage. I have lost many games because i didn't start roaming early enough.

+Kaizen I would say he doesn't put it there because if you look at what he says fundamentals, it's universal to all champions. Roaming, there's champs that want to roam and champs that don't and also depending on those champs you also have to think on when and how, so it's too specific. Instead, the basics are universal, trading for example is something every champ does and you have to understand it with everyone, the same for the other basics.

General Question here ive always wondered about. I think many players cannot get better at the game because of the abundance of information theyre getting about the game, they cant really see whats important or whats not, and it hinders their focus. So, in your opinion, would it be better for a new player to play the game completely isolated from outside information? As example: Ive noticed for instance that during my drum lessons I selflearn advanced techniques that I didn't know existed just by getting a feel for it. I think im hindered in LoL because I keep overthinking things, which I myself cant do with drumming.

About the ping question; although anyone would rather play on the lowest ping possible, do you believe it is that big of an edge to play on near zero ping versus let's say 50 ping, considering input buffering in league of legends? I might just be a lowly pleb but it was my understanding that as long as you get the timings right, you can input buffer any combo so long as you are comfortable with your ping. In other words; If i wanted to land an insec with 100 ping, i should be able to do it as easily as someone with zero ping so long as i am familiiar playing with 100 ping and comfortable timing each commands 100 micro seconds behind the animation. I might be misguided on this but i'd love to hear your thoughts on this. Otherwise, great video. Looking foward to more of these and live streams.

okay but Here is the point: some people might want to know what to do makrowise anyway, regardless if it's important. It just feels better to have a clue what's going on in theory, even on low elo. It's the same as for mechanically intense champions. (eg. i'm riven Main and destroyed a Fiora toplane( 3/0, 50 cs ahead). then she swapped with the enemy adc and I kept killing the adc and pushing but couldn't push properly bec it was rly early into the game and sivir could catch the Wave after she died almost instantly due to the the small death-timer and due to the fact that the wave was pushed almost into my tower when i killed her. anyways: Fiora got so fed bot doublekills over and over), that i couldn't face her anymore at some point(after 5-10 mins). Now i'm asking myself over and over if it was the right decision to stay top or if it was just unlucky. That's the kind of stuff lowelos think about and i'm sure u could help us out there. Thank u for reading and I enjoy ur vids a lot ;D

I love your tips and information. What do you say about this what happened in game: I was running near the bottom mid brush away from garen, he was close to me ( note i had ult back at raptors with my team mates literally near the brush and enemies in brush) so, i press R again and tp to my shadow and enemies from the brush start attacking me and my teammates who are right near the brush literally wait till i die to start attacking the enemies! There was lux from my team, who could've atleast binded for me to run away. And this is gold 4. I just feel like im covered by bronzes even tho it say's they're golds.

If theirs one thing I'd like to remind him is that when their explaining the small things don't matter like ur adc farm or whatever and the bricks, well.. let's say that adc that's Not farming well or feeding, let's say their the cement paste to fit ur bricks together, specially in low elo.. counter picking is a big thing to, it's a TEAM game theirs only so much you can do on your own and the rest is just made up of luck and hopfully you can master the fundamentals so well farming csing warding "roaming" in my opinion matters a LOT to help you get carry, but mastering those in this season "8" it's nearly impossible to carry by yourself, grab urself a premade hone ur skills and hope to climb

+SystemHatVersagt I know where you're coming from man... I've been playing this game for 5 years and played ranked for 4 and since that very first ranked game I would shiver, my teeth would clatter, and I would get goosebumps. I peaked at Master tier 170 pts still having those nerves. And I'll tell you right now, almost everybody who plays this game has slow reflexes. A lot of it is just prediction. So if an ADC can predict when a malphite ults, he will just flash before it. This is to say with almost every player I've seen play this game with the few exceptions (box box, faker[not all but just the few i've seen.])

I feel like when he starts talking about knowing how to take trade opportunities on champs he doesnt know so well one of the most beneficial things you can do besides spamming the champ is watch a high elo player vod playing that champ in solo q, eg bjergsen, and just observe how he trades and actually combos his abilities ( e.g playing karma and opening with an e to get in range to cast mantra q to slow enemy laner so you can easily connect a w and keep it on the enemy champ for the chain duration in order to get the root off).

Purpl what he meant is, for example, if a minion's about to die and you want to kill it, is there a more efficient way of doing so or get more advantage out of it. In relation to the video, decent viktor players would think about E'ing the minion while also doing damage onto the enemy champion or auto attacking the enemy to manipulate the minion wave.
