Arguably yes, it absolutely is sensational, but so is the TSRTS Stairway, or Duane Allman on Dreams, or again Page 's Since i've been Loving You on TSRTS, or Gilmour on Shine on You Crazy Diamond. Honestly i don't think there is a best, Clapton on White Room or Crossroads, then you can move on to Jeff Beck. Its very personal, and that again can depend on your mood.

Great reaction - Pink Floyd is not just music, they give you a whole experience. Generally you should listen to a whole album in one sitting as the songs will often run from one into the next. I have heard it said that Dave Gilmour, the lead guitarist, can get more feeling and emotion from one note than most guitarists can get from a whole song. This version of 'Comfortably Numb' at the Pulse shows was definitely a good one for you to hear him and Pink Floyd for the first time.

When I was in my early teens and learning to play guitar, this song was released as a single here in the United States and was all over the radio. It was this song that made me want to learn how solos and melodies work. I still think it's the best guitar solo ever, partly because it's not about going fast but emotion and creating a theme in the solo.

This guitar solo has been rated in many polls as the best of all time and I agree. It's incredible what David Gilmour can do with his Stratocaster. It always hits you right in the heart. There are many versions of this song here on KZfaq (and I've probably seen them all) and notice that David always plays the first solo the same but the second solo is different every time. And it's a real treat every time! And in many other songs Gilmour proves what a fantastic guitarist he is. "Sorrow" (from the Pulse concert), "Marooned" (original video), "Coming Back to Live" (original video), "Echoes" (Live at Pompeii), "Time" (studio version), "Mother" or my favourite "Shine on you Crazy Diamond" (original animated video) and more and more - these are all songs that if you listen to, you will never leave Pink Floyd. You'll find that Pink Floyd is not just a musical group but a philosophy of life. The combination of Roger Waters' profound lyrics (from the pre-1968 era) and the impeccable instrumentation of Barrett, Mason, Wright and Gilmour is timeless and familiar. Whoever it hits, it never lets go. I'm a shining example of this and I'm glad that even today's young people are returning to true "classical" music... Please excuse my English - I'm from the Czech Republic. I wish you all the best in these hectic times. And just a little warning for future reference: if you don't want to annoy true Pink Floyd fans, never (NEVER!) pause the video during a guitar solo. It's a mortal sin ;-).

I stood 20 ft from David and the boys as they played this song in 1988 on the Delicate Sounds of Thunder tour. Along with 20,000 other people, it was damn near a religious experience. With Margaret Taylor and Rachel Flame doing the harmonies it sounded like angels singing. What a magical night it was, final song of the night was Run Like Hell which rang in our ears for hours as we slowly left the concert.

All of your reactions are a joy to watch. To see someone young being exposed to great music for the first time is a joy to watch. I see in your face the same joy I expressed the first time I heard the music! The same happiness in the musicianship. Go for it! Listen to all of it! There are two live albums you should give a listen to: "The Who: Live At Leeds" and "Frampton Comes Alive". The last one was featured in one of the "Wayne's World" movies as a gag, where Wayne says jokes about everyone having it. "It came with a box of Tide" (laundry soap) he joked. But he was right. I was 21 years old in 1979, the year that the album The Wall, which had this track on, was released. This is one of my most favourite songs of all time. This performance of it, is truly epic and it's such a pleasure to have observed you as you watched it. I gave it another dimension watching someone have the reaction to it that I have. I have always listened to it alone as It always makes me weep. I am 64 years old now and as I write this, it still has the same effect. If anything it is much more poignant now as the years have had their way with me. It is a reminder to me that I am not alone in the universe. From now on, I shall always say 'ambiance' in the way that you say it, in your native French. It sounds so much nicer than we say it here in the UK. We probably appropriated it from the French language anyway. Please consider me as 'subscribed' and a supporter. With very best wishes...

It's called the Gilmour ( yes this is the proper spelling of his surname) effect. When people can't agree on what is better a flash shredding guitar solo or an emo bending Gilmour guitar solo. The middle guitar solo is regarded by many of his peers as the greatest solo ever. The production value that goes into pink floyd music including live is the best you will ever hear. No one tops them.

Thought you'd enjoy this epic piece of guitar work. I saw them live in 1975 and 1989 and they always put on a hell of a live show. One of the first bands to use lightshows of any description, back in the 60's. Other epic songs with great guitar work from Gilmour would have to include 'Shine On You Crazy Diamond' and 'Wish You Were Here', though there are at least 6 superb albums and a few more very interesting ones but the one to turn the lights off, relax and lose yourself in for 45 minutes would be the album 'Dark Side Of The Moon'. It was made 49 years ago last week and I think it's been on the Billboard 100 albums charts ever since. Also worth watching the incredible song 'Echoes', played live at Pompeii, Italy, which is a masterpiece. Also David Gilmour's solo albums have some superb songs and, as always from David, incredible guitar work.

Your first reaction ("I've never seen a guitar like that") was the first time I realised - we never get to see David Gilmour until his first solo a full minute and a half into the song. Yes the word is 'ambiance'. Pink Floyd were famous for their light show. The first time I ever saw Pink Floyd was when late-night TV ran the entire 'Pulse' concert - it was the lights that grabbed my attention, then the music caught hold of me and I couldn't turn it off. I became a Pink Floyd fan overnight.

If you like guitar solos you really need to check out Gary Moore's 'The Messiah Will Come Again'. It's a absolute masterpiece.

I was at that very concert in the video. No other concert has been even close to this one. The stage was gigantic and quadrophonic sound incredible.

This track is actually an Encore following the entire concert "PULSE" from 1994, which is 2 1/2 hours of simply superb music! They play tracks from practically every album they've made & they do the full Dark Side of the Moon album as well...it's a Must!! Watch it all, get blown away by the Best Band of all Time!!

I have said it on one of your other reaction videos, and I will say it again here: It is very heartwarming to see someone of your generation react to "old" music in this way. You genuinely enjoy this music, unlike other reactors who just do it for the views, and that makes people of my age very happy. Big grin, shiny eyes, playing air guitar, you really dig this.

Half of a Pink Floyd concert is the light show. I saw them the first time in 1969 and they had a great light show even back then, and they only got better with time.
