BabyMetal are such hard working girls. Attending school while also going to Sakura Gakuin, rehearsing all the time for Babymetal performances and then performing on stage. No wonder poor Yui got sleepy sometimes! It must have been fun going back to school after their 2014 appearance at Sonisphere, in front of 50,000 Metal fans and having friends ask "What did you do on your summer holidays, girls?"

Sukura Gakuin is the idolunit of the concept of schoollife 2010-2021 by Amuse.( Amuse is the biggest entertainment company in Japan). There is a lot of child stars (acting for TV. Movies. etc) in Amuse. And importantly Amuse made the unit as the education program for their child stars. Therefor the unit members are only selected in the child stars and are very beautiful and humble. (so is different from 'AKB etc') The members act an idolunit and learn a lot of catgorys'skill (singging,dance,talking. etc) by professionals in Amuse. (with acting for TV. Movies. etc ) The members have to graduate the unit on 15years old and transfer the specific section (actor,musician.etc) in Amuse.(Almost members become an actor.)

A little more information about 2021/2022 After the 10 shows at BUDOKAN, a video was uploaded on BABYMETAL's official account titled THE ONE - STAIRWAY TO LIVING LEGEND, It's like a farewell, but it's not, it's just a bit of lore about how the girls left from here to an unknown place with no return date. This is actually a break due to the pandemic issue and live shows so they are expected to come back this year but only the fox god knows 🦊🤘 I would recommend the song THE ONE, which is dedicated to their fans.

[FYI : East Kami Band and Band-Maid have been good friends for years and still are. (Especially, Kanami respects Ohmura)]

Awesome, thanks! They have used a couple of "official masks" during "Megitsune" performances since 2016 plus the traditional standard one before. There is a special edition for the "Five Fox Festivals" with five different masks, one for each concert. You still can get some online, but better prepare your credit card. And beware of the scalpers, they are currently selling the standard "matsuri" mask announced as BABYMETAL's for an outrageous price All the official merch is sold by asmart from Japan and there are official online shops in the UK and the US.. So I had to learn how to import goods lately... If you need just a poster or a flag you can try bay or the Chinese big online shopping portal... (cannot mention websites here, sorry).

Babymetal are currently on a hiatus do to COVID but are supposed to return soon. Su And Moa are taking time off to enjoy there lives. They will be back soon and maybe with a new album! Also, you should check out their song Starlight. It’s seen as a tribute to Yui and Mikio and it’s a very powerful and beautiful song. I think you’d enjoy it. 😊 I’m really enjoying your reactions! As you said recording a song at age 11 or 12 is insane, but let's remember Suzuka had been in the entertainment industry since age 3 and Yui since 6 and Moa since 8 or so. So for them by then it was 'just an other day at the office' 🙂 The spot on the agenda for the mainstage at Sonisphere was still open or opened up for a band that cancelled. 36:04 in recent interviews we've heard they did make some changes to the setlist, some songs which were meant to debut at this show. 37:50 I think this might be the least accurate part of the video. I think it was the first part of the tour not the Legend S show. I've not heard from anyone who has been there that the response was bad, but their was a bit of a strange atmosphere. From what we know from unofficial channels Moa was still in university recently, maybe still is (I kind of lost track of when she was due to graduate). So Yui probably is too, I don't expect her to restart her career in entertainment before she graduates. My best guess is because she mentioned her 'other dream' in the message she might be back in the spotlight as an actress. 45:55 and her age, because when Babymetal firs toured all shows at to be early in the evening because Japan has a law that teens are not allowed to perform late at night. So Babymetal did the same outside of Japan as well.

Yes, Sakura Gakuin disbanded last year! And talking about merch: there is an UK and a US official shop, but they don't have a lot of merch... There is a lot more on the official japanese one, but no masks and only a cloth banner at 85€ + shipping, so not cheap xD You are probably better off looking for a picture you like online, and getting it printed on a local shop :D

I kind of want to point out that the Avengers were never announced under any formal terms (as in who they were). These girls have performed at a number of Babymetal shows since their addition to the rotation and yet Team Babymetal has never made any kind of public announcement to who they are or even what their names are. Their names don't show up on any albums, promotional materials, websites, social media, lore, emcee announcements at concerts...nowhere....As far as Koba is concerned they're not actual human beings but rather made-up nameless characters. But you go on any fan forum and EVERYONE knows who they are....because we figured it out ourselves through crowdsourcing. This is a pretty unusual concept as far as musical acts go. I don't think there is a single other band in existence that runs its brand like that. It's unusual, but honestly I love it!

They have had a couple different styles of fox masks as fan merchandise in the past. The masks are similar to ones used in festivals in Japan, which are sold all over. Hopefully they'll make some available again.

Yes, AKB48 is an idol group like Sakura Gakuin. The whole idol scene is kind of strange and sometimes creepy. But it is such an established form of music group in Japan that there are alt-idol or anti-idol groups with the same structure of singing and dancing young women but the music is NOT wholesome J-pop. They have names like Necronomidol, KaqriyoTerror, and Broken by the Scream. Babymetal is basically an idol group that broke out of the mold. Su-metal has an older sister Himeka, who was in the idol group Nogizaka46. She also attended the same Actors School Hiroshima and while there she was paired up with her sister in the duo "Tween". She left Nogizaka46 after 6 years and became a mental health counselor. There is one more sister who is the oldest and stays out of the public eye. Though she is apparently also a singer. Their father was a bassist in a rock band and Su-metal inherited the death stare from him.

You are a Kitsune now. Now it is time for you to watch "Tales of the Destinies" and maybe some Sakura Gakuin. FYI SG was way cooler and more fun than AKB48

Whenever I see these videos, I ask myself the same question you did. "What did I do at their age" and my answer is also similar, "Well, actually nothing". But I can live well with it and have no regrets. :) I don't think we can give these girls enough respect for what they have already experienced and achieved in their young years. The same goes for the Kami-Band, the people/person who came up with the idea and those who are responsible for the realization of this project. The shows that are put on for BM are for me among the best ever and are anything but half-hearted, which ends in a true experience for the audience on site and even us here in front of the monitors. I would like to take this opportunity not only to say 'thank you', but also to mention that I enjoy your videos very much. True to the motto "Sometimes less is more", I really like the way you present yourself and the content. There are a lot of videos out there in which minutes of dialogue are held without saying anything substantive. And yes, sometimes overdone videos can be fun to watch, but in the long run I prefer your approach. You bring your observations and thoughts to the point. More than four years without a single picture or video of Yui? A twenty three year old girl with no social media at all? The guitarist commits suicide or “accidentally” falls off a balcony? What is going on? Why hasn’t Yui put out a video thanking her fans or just saying hello?
