I want to start dancing soon. I grew up urbanized, my parents are the furthest from traditional you can get. I’m learning to make my own regalia, I can’t wait to dance along side my people one day.

I'm so glad you talked about the compression socks, I get shin splints all the time and I had no idea this would help. Thank you! now if only we can convince Dr. Scholl's to come out with a thick ball-of-the-foot gel insert!!

Does the hockey type make you Mocs stop falling off and does it make you feet stronger like not as sore or what

The dress doesn't match the leather and beadwork at all.. why don't you wear a dress that matches better or is made out of similar material as everything else? 😶
@lenz405 жыл бұрын
j ss the dress and beadwork don’t have to match, it’s 100% personal preference, my beadwork and dress don’t match, I was taught by several elders that often your dress can represent your name or clan, whereas your beadwork can represent the specific designs or your Nation or family, and most of the time the colour you use in your designs are personal preference, and when we are given a new dress that doesn’t match our current items at the moment it’s ok we should honour it by wearing it anyway

@@lenz40 i understand.. it just doesn't look right to me.. two completely different patterns, styles, colors and material that clash badly. But to each their own

j s s I acknowledge and respect your opinion, however what you favour in a native dancers regalia isn’t up to you, you may or may not like it is your personal opinion, however since the regalias meaning goes deeper than your colour or pattern preference, all you can do is show respect to that person and acknowledge the artistry involved

your outfit does not have to match your beadwork lol
