M2K is the reason I play Marth

Watching Mew2King play is like watching a TAS.

He loves megaman. He can frame perfect megaman 2 he's played it so much. It's fits him in more ways than one. Plus he requested megaman music, which is why his other 2 vids use megaman as well. What I didn't know was that Isai's and Ken's combo vids also used megaman music. I'm thinking it's a right of passage now, haha. I was lucky to find that song and be able to make my own mix of it. Dr. PP actually isolated that song out of a few candidates, and it screams chaingrab in some places.

The amazing part about mew2king is that once you get caught in a combo setup, its just a systematic death. It's like he truly is a robot. The music choice is perfectly fitting for such a player.

2023 and I am still just amazed with M2Ks marth combos.. I miss M2k competing ..I am not a melee player but he got me into watching melee and still watch to this day.

No, you did really well. I usually don't like the whole multiple combos on the screen at once, but you did those really well, I loved the ones on ICs.

There's something about m2k's marth that makes it so different from other marths. Compared to PPMD's marth, his edgeguards and combos look so much cleaner.

This just shows the legend that is M2K. It's absolutely fantastic how he can play at this kind of level as Marth. My god. The music is perfect.

Everyone likes M2K's Marth the most of his three mains, and would probably like to see him default to it more often, both from a viewing perspective, and as a fan who wants to see him do well. He may have more time played than the other top 5, but you simply can't keep three distinct characters in tip-top condition. In the past, having three characters in say, the 98th percentile of skill was good enough, but now, it's not. Instead of living and dying on the counterpick method he's been employing for years, he really needs to drop someone. Fox may be the best of the three, but he's M2K's worst in tournament. He says he can play "TAS level fox" in friendlies, which I believe, but if he can't pull it off in tourney, then he's just spreading himself unnecessarily thin. He's the best Shiek and Marth in the world (don't care if PP can beat him in the ditto, that's one aspect of the character) and between the two, he can beat any character. If Hbox and Armada are getting constant practice in tourney against full on fox mains like Mango, Leffen, Hax, and even guys like SFAT, Colbol, Fiction, Lucky, and Silent Wolf, M2K's tertiary fox can't really hope to keep up unless they're having an off day. He demonstrated at STR that Marth can fight Jiggs, and PP has beaten Armada with Marth. Marth's only real losing match up is Shiek, and honestly, I believe M2K's Marth can beat Shroomed or KirbyKaze, and if not, he can beat them in the ditto. By the way, not trying to speak bad on M2K's fox. I think it's safely top 10 in the world, but he doesn't use it enough to be able to use it for what it's for; beating floaties. Having said that...the one time he did beat Armada was with Fox. TLDR; drop fox, and practice your real mains, Marth in particular, because he's better than Shiek!

JROCK50054 ...These are some of the best players in the world. In fact, a few them are arguably equal or better than M2K. They only look weak because M2K is frame perfect 99% of the time, so in most of these combos, there's absolutely nothing they can do because of hit-stun frames. All M2K needs is a grab in the right situation, and it's all over, because M2K's tech skill is so pristine.

I did a bit of mixing on that song to fit the video a bit better so if you want my mix just let me know and i'll upload it somewhere.
