I talked to my friend about the acolyte and he said he likes it because in his words “it’s just something to throw on in the background while he cleans the house.” That’s not good. Star Wars is better than that. It should be appointment television. Not treated like a sitcom that we’ve watched over and over.

Is Badger the one who started this whole thing about the Black Series helmet? I know Gore told Gary @Nerdrotic about it. It's not a Haslab project though, it's not even an exclusive. It might have sold out on Hasbro's site, but it's available at multiple other retailers. Haslabs have to get a certain # of backers to even be produced, so there's no way that helmet could be a current campaign if it's due to ship in a matter of months. Actually, they've got a cantina playset campaign running that ends tonight, and it's been funded. Imagine that, OT stuff being profitable. Not defending the show or the helmet or anything, just clarifying the facts.

@ioncewasmikey I was gonna post this as well. The helmet has not sold out because it's a pre order for a product that doesn't come out for another year and a half so who's to say they just didn't set the pre order goal laughably low so they could say it has sold out. I'm getting tired of badger just saying unverified news bits so he can rile people up.

@CorporalJenkins1 Yeah, I'm not surprised if it's sold out on Hasbro's site because most things typically "sell out" on there before other online retailers. A lot of times the stuff will come back in stock too, either as a preorder or once the item has been released. It's kind of surprising to me that out of all these guys across multiple streams, nobody seems to know about this stuff. I get it, I'm sure most of them have no interest in buying current Star Wars merch, but Badger even said he collects Black Series figures so I feel like he'd be more informed at least. I also think that the cantina playset's success would be a stronger talking point regarding the overall health of the brand. If you look at what Star Wars Haslabs have been successful, it's clear that the OT is still where the money is. I haven't seen a ton of Badger so I can't speak to him giving incorrect info on other things like you said, but it just seems like someone, anyone, should do some research before they run with something like that.

In Andor there aren't 2 factions, the rebels are still to be born and it's what Luthen is trying to achieve pulling together all the minor factions that can have different goals, from separatist, unionist, scoundrels, common people of planets under the same mantle of the rebellion. Telling the rebels are keen to sacrifice people is false, Luthen is and knows he's damned for that with an expiration date. He's an anti-hero with a bad ending coming, but Ferrix has many heroes on the rise.

Not sure if this debate is about Andor the show or Rogue One. It may have been missed by some here but Andor learns his methods are not the way during the movie of Rogue One. It becomes the hero of the traditional fantasy sense at the end of Rogue One

Andor does something that was established in Rogue One. The rebellion was very different until the Death Star existed - at that point the Death Star is the transition into the space opera and a Rebellion built on hope. Now, whether you like that narrative transition is up to you.😂 In a way the best character in Rogue One is the Rebellion and irs transition pre to post Death Star.

On the topic of Andorra and killing of a fellow rebel, George Lucas gave us the perfect examples of how rebels would deal with this. In Empire Strikes Back, Luke's snowspeeder gets shot down. He tried desperately to get Dack out of the ship, unfortunately he couldn't before the AT-AT crushed the speeder. When Luke was lost in the snow the rebels wanted to go after him but couldn't because of the temperature dropping at night. It was with regret they closed the doors. The Rebels had a "leave no man behind" mentality. I haven't watched Andor, but I enjoyed Rogue One, but I hated the scene where Cassian killed a fellow rebel.

IMHO, he wasnt a rebel, it was a paid informant providing information to whomever would be interested to pay. It was clear Cassian was not happy with what he did, but if the stormies got them, the guy would tell them anything on Cassian and then Cassian would be tortured to get all intel he has - baaaaad outlook

@CallMeChato how the witches died? In an OSHA violation carbon monoxide poisoning. Twins job as kids was changing the batteries in the CO detector but the shrill voices of the covenant drowned out the constant beeping - end scene 24 style beeps all the witches on floor CO detector red light on, but the twins were taught Dark Side = red = good.

I hardcore agree with Verbal Riot about the actions of the Rebellion. Idk how people believe good guys wouldnt do bad things to get to good means........my guy, let me introduce you to the most successful rebellions in the history of the world. To protect a spy who is giving the rebellion a head start and vital information to survive over a battalion of 50 men is prime general shit. Just remember that we k ow Star Wars for the people who were to make to the ceremony to wear the medals. Andor is about the people that are VITAL to the cause that know they will be the ones not present.

Andor it is blurring the line in fantasy and reality of our wars. The Clone Wars series had an arc where the clones killed Jedi General Four Arms because he didn't care about how many clones died to achieve his victory - OT was fairly black and white while Andor shows the grey and it was refreshing to have a series NOT Jedi focused

Yeah that was a major part of Rogue One even. Heck, Andor kills his informant to avoid the risk of him being captured & ratting in the scene Andor is introduced to us. Maybe in a very OT purist sense there's no room for that in Star Wars, but if it's done well (and I think RO & Andor were) then it's very believable.

There is a simple and obvious answer to every confusing decision the "writers" of these shows seemed to have made. Humans didn't write it. AI did. Humans did some quick post writing edits to save money, and then they slapped some visuals to it with mediocre actors and VFX. After that they have sat around laughing at people like you who are doing their job for them. The heads of Disney/Lucasfilm exist in an ATTENTION economy now, not a profit driven one. They make money based on stock value, not dollars coming through the door. Your constant attention to these shows on social media is making them super wealthy, even though they are pumping out absolute garbage. That is why they love trolling you. The more commotion you make online, the richer they get.

At least at 1:19:28 , there's a quick glimpse at what the *real* Agatha (from the comicbooks) looked like from 1970 all the way until "Marvel went stupid". Most people don't know Agatha 's character began wayyyyyyyy back in Fantastic Four 94, and looked about 94 years old, too. I used to own that issue of FF (it was quite well written and entertaining).

No. We haven't won until they make right with Gina and we see consistently acceptable Star Wars again. I will forever rage against this infernal machine until change occurs. If you don't have the stones for it you weren't much of a fan in the first place afaic. Script and DA arguing reminded about the ridiculously stupid opening crawl to Revenge of the Sith. “heroes on both sides!” Let’s face it, Star Wars got stupid after ROTJ and hasn’t recovered since. The only stories that aren’t stupid are the overly gritty depressing ones. The sense of adventure, joy and fun are lost. It’s dreary and unspirational at it’s best moments. Which I will take over stupid any day. All they had to do was replace the wooden Diego Luna who has the charisma of cold oatmeal with a force sensitive character, and Andor would have been the best thing since the OT.

I've been thinking of that very line recently. I don't think it's necessarily trying to say there are "good guys" on both sides. A hero doesn't absolutely have to be fighting for the right cause. I think George might have meant that there were standouts on both sides who achieved great feats for their respective sides. But maybe it was just to introduce the theme of "from my point of view, the Jedi are evil." That's very possible too. I wouldn't say the prequels were dreary or uninspiring though. They were all full of creative new characters, creatures & environments. Lots of fun & adventure & maybe even some joy in there at certain moments. I'd agree that in the Disney era, we have received very little if anything that is imaginative or creative, though.

@@ioncewasmikey I have no trouble with the concept of both sides having champions. It’s the execution as usual that is the problem. Stupid sentence and it doesn’t belong where it is. Particularly since in the entire movie we see no heroes on the other side.

@Princess_Feona Well, the crawl also directly names 2 of the heroes on the other side of the conflict & each of their accomplishments- Dooku right before the sentence in question & Grievous immediately after. I'm not sure what placement would be better? I'd also argue that most of the 6 crawls have some element or another that isn't directly portrayed on screen. Just as we don't see Dooku capture Palpatine but we see that he has been captured, we don't see the Rebels steal the Death Star plans but we see that they are in possession of those plans. I won't argue that the prequels were perfectly executed because I don't think they were, but I don't personally see an issue with the sentence in question or its placement. It's pulpy just like the rest of the crawls.

Disagree about Diego. He was a great fit for an operative/spy - he should look like an average guy that blends in with a skill set that surprises. I hope Andor S2 will have the same level as S1.

Yeah I cringed really hard at that part. Yes in works of fiction idealistic heroes could maintain the high road even at impossible odds, that's what makes them special. That's why Han, Luke, and Leah are special. But the rebels aren't only Han, Luke, and Leah and not everyone can be like Han, Luke, and Leah. The mainline movies explore the heroes doing heroic deeds, but not everything in a massive universe has to be nor can be an entire galactic population doing fantastic heroic deeds. More proof to what Mauler said, StarWars can never grow up. Even anime grew out of the "only rainbow and sparkles good guys" phase and managed to produce works that delve in the nitty gritty of reality while maintaining heroic values and optimism.

@calfowler6838 How would that work? I disagree, but I'm interested to hear what you think. I don't think these guys talking about it generates revenue for Disney. It's not even in the top 10 for original programming from these streaming sites, it fell off that list with 2 episodes left. People aren't tuning in to D+ to see how bad it is, not in any significant number anyway. Instead, we watch these guys tear it apart. I think we find some solace in seeing how bad it is & laughing. Ahsoka & Acolyte have finally let me separate Disney Star Wars from the Star Wars I knew & love. But to OP's comment, I am looking forward to it being over in a couple weeks.

@@ioncewasmikey it’s just very entertaining to see and analyze Disney’s fall. I can see people getting tired of the same issue, it’ll go away and only the memes will stay. Cmon how can’t you not see the entertainment from busting the “power of manyyyy, aayayyayyy” or the campfire in space or osha passing out and waking in another planet lol, it’s very funny. And yes there’s people that incompetent and Disney gave them a job. Btw Diego Luna sucks so it keeps away a lot of people away from andor. If he wasn’t there I would have watched it.
