Vertical Jigging Spring Mississippi River Walleye

Күн бұрынIn this video, I am fishing on pool 4 of the Mississippi River for walleye and sauger. I wasn't sure what the best tactic would be, so I tried a few things before I settled on vertical jigging with a blade bait and a jigging rap. Using bright colors was key for me.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I got there. When I started fishing down there years and years ago, vertical jigging was all we did. It was fun to get back to basics and do that again!

Good tip- use braid for your main line, tie on a few feet of heavier fluorocarbon line (I use 12-15 pound test), and then to a cross lock snap. Usually number 2 size. Those will make a difference. Tangles still happen, but not as often. The heavier fluorocarbon and snap make a big difference.
