Our project today is another DIY project and the materials are from Dollar Tree. It's the DIY Cake or Dessert Stand also known as Cylinder Pedestal stand.
Materials are :
Foam board for Dollar Tree
We also need :

This is great! I needed some of these for an event coming up at our office but it was not in the budget to spend hundreds renting or buying. I think I will put some pieces of board in the middle before I cover the sides just to make it a little more sturdy.

HEY CANDICE WHEN YOU PUT THE BOARD IN THE MIDDLE WAS IT MORE STURDY? DO YOU HAVE ANY PICTURES OF HOW YOU DID IT. I AM TRYING TO MAKE SURE MY DESSERT DON'T FALL ON THE FLOOR.

I don't have any pictures, but it did make it more sturdy. I cut a slit in the middle of one so I could cross them so the top and bottom pieces had something else to sit on rather than just being glued to the side pieces.@@ledeawright7851

You can spray paint foam board. You have to do very short spurts/sprays & take your time going layer by layer. Allow for dry time in between coats. I imagine you can use cloth covers as well.

Hello ViennaM, we did had an update posted in our community but that was last month's post. But this coming Thursday, we have another project that includes this DIY stand so that you guys can also see another update of it. So far, it holds up pretty well with a heavy lamp and some more stuff on it. Thank you.

Hello Ms. Trixx, maybe it depends on how you make it. But the quality of the foam board will make a difference. With the one in Dollar Tree it's not really advisable for a business since it's flimsy. Sorry for the late reply. Thank you.

Hello Jacqueline, for this kind of foam board no we can't. I tried spray painting this foam board last year and it's not working (it was a disaster). I am not sure about the other foam boards that are ticker (we never tried it though). Thank you.

Actually we use it to one of our parties (our son's bday) and it holds up pretty well. Also, this coming Thursday, there will be another video that includes this project and we added a heavy lamp and some stuff on top of it and it still holds pretty well. This will be another update for this stand. Thank you :)

Hello A W, no not yet but Cheland told me that it is sturdy enough to hold cakes and some stuff. We will use this for Carson's birthday this month where we put the cake and some candy treats. We will post some pics. and we will keep you guys updated. Thank you. (Aileen).
