Actually they are notorious for resource guarding. Nasty aggression issues. They are the number one breed known for resource guarding. As a professional trainer I have never met a golden who didn’t have RG issues currently or nipped in the bud as a puppy. They can have these issues as early as 4 weeks old. That’s why you really need to find a good breeder who breed for temperament and not just conformation (looks)

@@justagirlandherdogs615 I guess I've been lucky in that I've never met an aggressive Golden Retriever, but I've definitely witnessed many hoarding treats, toys, and balls. Also there always seem to be the most submissive around other dogs, though maybe not sharing the toys😂 I always get mutts though, I would never get a pure breed dog of any kind.

Fitness. . Move, You'll Get it why not? I love mixes and I own two but I’m a working dog trainer and I need breeds bred for specific lines of work with predictable temperaments. Nothing wrong with a pure bred for a pet dog either for those who want to ensure a dog matches there lifestyle via drive, temperment, traits, size, intelligence, etc

@@justagirlandherdogs615 solely for the reason,the family had two particularly amazing dogs that were both mutts. The first one was animal shelter dog, and the second one was from my younger brother's friends, purchased for only $50. Both German Shepherd combos , the first one was an alleged German Shepherd/Welsh Corgi, it was the smartest dog ever. There was a Reader's Digest dog IQ test in the mid-to-late 90s and he's got a 50 out of 50 on it, earning the dog genius category 😂 Of course that was not perfect science, but one time I went to teach him tricks in his later years (no one had never really tried before,) but he learned everything right on command..after one or two attempts. I just couldn't believe it when it was happening. Then the other most recent dog was a German Shepherd / Golden Retriever, and that was the funniest, best dog ever, and incredibly smart and wiley too 😂 People would walk by the driveway with their dogs, and she would go on a walk around the block with them, then return home on their way back😂 So that's why I'm inclined towards mutts, plus I'm thrifty, so if I can get just as good a dog for a fraction of a price, that's a big incentive too. I actually did look at some purebred German Shepherd a few months ago, but it's hard to justify two grand for the dog when the past two mutts have been so great.

Me too. But then I realized that he probably trained the dog to fake aggression in response to a specific hand gesture. If you look, the dog only does it when he has his hand in a specific way. When he reached out to pet him normally at the end, the dog didn't even bat an eye. Smart boy indeed

@@Ahmadkhadr. it doesnt need training, my sister had a dog before and I used to extend all fingers in my hand like this when I wanted to get him angry, and just hissing a bit while having your palm open is enough. they think its something that wants to do them harm. once u did that u can just clsoe your hand and talk with a nice voice, they will no longer perceive you(your hand) as a threat... idk how to explain it, but it worked 10/10 times just like it was displayed on this video.

Alex Centeno He was mad. My dog does the same thing. If you get to close he’ll jump at you but often misses because it’s just to scare you away. If you do certain things like slowly stick your hand out, some dogs, often abused when young, will get very protective of themselves. Then they’ll stop for seemingly no reason.
