The day it was filmed it was a public holiday... I am in Perth ATM... grew up here but now live in the Kimberley (Broome). Another beautiful place. The penguin statue is actually a statue called First Contact. It is believed the local indigenous thought the first settlers were their ancestors returning by boat. It is a cormorant.

Perth,with a population of around 2 million, is the 4th biggest city in Australia. It's has at least 500 000 people more than Adelaide. Edit at the WW2 memorial there is a semi circular bench known colloquially as the Whispering chair . If you whisper at one end of the bench it can be heard at the other end clearly . Perth has more days of sunshine than any other Australian Capital city, it's weather is hot and dry. When it rains it comes in a downpour . We actually get more rainfall than London.

We'd love to have you come holiday in Perth. Some of the warmest friendly people you could ever meet. We'revery proud of our generosity too. Each year in October we have a 30 hour telethon for sick children. Every year we raise more than the last and last year the state with about 3million people raised 48 million dollars.

I live in Perth. I love this city. I have lived in the UK and Spain before, but they do not come anywhere near close to the lifestyle of Perth/Australia. What a place my home is ❤❤

Adelaide has half the population. Perth was quiet because it was a public holiday. In terms of shoreline, Perth is just 1 big beach that goes on forever. Australian cities can be quite vast compared to a lot of others around the world, as most people want a house with a back yard, so the number of people who live in high rise apartments is quite small. The city spans probably well over 100km north to south. Perth is easily the cleanest city in the country. It also always has the lowest unemployment rate.

I'm from Perth and we love our city! It's a very east coast vs west coast vibe lol.. we all stick together ❤️..there are some other beautiful western Australian videos check them out. Shows some more than just the city centre x

Quiet in the city because it was filmed on a public holiday. It's Australia Day, equivalent to your 4th of July. No doubt the city would've been jumping later in the day and all night when everyone came out to party. About1 million more people live in Perth compared to Adelaide and is, in fact, the 4th largest city in Australia.

He pointed in the wrong direction for a sunset.... he pointed to the Darling Ranges aka Perth Hills and that is a sunrise... the sun sets over the Indian Ocean. PERTH = paradise.

He states that it's Australia Day, which is a public holiday. Many people would be busy having pool parties and bbq lunches with friends or going to the sky show on the other side of the river.

A friend of mine was allowed to fire the canon for her birthday. An old defence fort. Check out our coastline and you'll see our beaches go on coninuously forever! Fireworks an American thing ha ha. They were invented by the Chinese and are popular all around the world. Australia Day is a public holiday so that's why there aren't a lot of people around. Thanks so much for your interest in Perth.

Main streets in central Perth were built wide enough for camel trains to do U-turns. He's wrong about sunset direction. Views from Kings Park are to the East over Perth and South Perth. Beaches have no surf in afternoon because Perth always has afternoon sea breeze on warm days. BUT best places in WA are down South or Up North, a long way from Perth.

What he's showing here is the Perth CBD (Central Business District) which is a very small part of the whole Perth Metropolitan Area. Fremantle is a very beautiful part of the metropolitan area. When it comes to a good fish fry, Cicerello's has been the place to go for at least 40 years or more as far as I've been going there's concerned. If you're going to Fremantle, you really have to visit the Fremantle prison. It's a tour much worth checking out (don't worry, it's not being used as a prison any more)

It only states that Perth gets more rainfall pa because when it rains in London it is more frequent than in Perth but the rain is light . Perth has a lot more sunshine than London .

As for as Perth goes, what you seen on this video was very limited. As the world's most isolated city, there is a lot to see and do. Just it is only the locals that know the most about it.

12.05 haha oi those birds(seagulls) are assholes. I watched an Asian lady come out the shop with her lobster, and she was kinda pointed with the food like she was pointing out a table. This women got absolutely rolled for her lunch in about 5 seconds, and like I felt sorry for her and she got it replaced, but fuck that shit was funny. Just watch your food and you’ll be right.

It's a mining city that's why everything is big and new because of the money from mining Where in Adelaide we like to keep as much of our history as we can so it looks older in Adelaide Also Adelaide is quiet flat city unless you go out into the country side even their flat when your their

I'm an ex Adeladian but have now lived in Perth more than half my life. I love both cities but they are different. Adelaide definitely has more culture but Perth has better weather particularly in winter. I think of Adelaide as charming and Perth pretty. There's also more job opportunities in Perth. It's a pity Adelaide doesn't have the manufacturing it had when I was young but that's the global economy.

He mispronounced Elizabeth Quay, it's actually pronounced the same as key

Not necessarily. The word "quay" can be pronounced in any one of three ways in American English. /kiː/, /keɪ/ or /kweɪ/, or in layman's phonetic spelling: "key", "kay" or "kway". In Australia we only use the first pronunciation.

@@thevannmann and since it's an Australian landmark that he's talking about, it's pronounced key. I have lived in the Perth area for over 40 years, including the time from when the development was first announced, I know how it's supposed to be pronounced
