I see junk in the trash here in NYC and it's going to a landfill and will never see the light of day again. You take that stuff and bring it back to life, it's fantastic not seeing that fan going into a trash can!

I cringed when you pulled out the motor shaft with a pair of pliers but other than that great restoration!

nice rebuild, but i would say, always put the wire through the holes in the terminals and then solder, that is much safer as if the solder comes off the wire is still connected , and less likly to case problems ..

Show us how to catch fire and accident waiting to happen. Where is the thermal fuse or thermo switch in the coil to prevent fire burning if get too hot?

There was no thermal fuse installed in the factory.

@@stormkhan4250 More reputable brand has thermal fuse or thermo switch built-in. Considering the cost, it's worth to add-in when you are already opened up the motor coil. If directly into coil - normally closed thermo switch 130-140 celsius. The further away from source of heat for example heatsink or outter body, probably 70-100 celsius

Me parece un video muy interesante y excelente, pero en el sur de España es más barato comprar uno nuevo por el precio de unos 25-30€ y es más barato que lo gastado en las piezas nuevas y el trabajo que tiene, con todo y con eso felicitaciones, un abrazo desde el sur de España Yo tengo un Taurus, tropicana más simple y todo el dia y noche sin parar, muy simple el rotativo es por el movíento del aire o presionando ya palomilla para frenar o que corra más y sin el senador de arranque, todos los años un poco de aceite por los dos lados del motor y a renglón seguido, como tiene dos velocidades, va divino y tengo otro y con todo ese jaleo y botones táctiles y control remoto y eso más ruidoso y comicado, es más lo utilizo muy poco el antiguo, silencioso y perfecto cada año y eso que lleva de años que ni me acuerdo Un fuerte saludo y enhorabuena amigo

Awesome vintage fan restoration! You literally tore this thing down and built it back up , I didn't know that you could rebuild an amateur like that ! I have a 1950s wizard box fan that I got about a year ago , the fan had a Westinghouse 1/15 hp motor on it but the motor burned out only 3 days of having it, would I be able to rebuild the amateur just as you rebuilt yours ? Were would I be able to get the right materials such as the copper windings to rewire and restore the motor again can you help me with this ?

12:22 The windings are much too long compared to the stator. 13:40 You could have avoided making that contraption by winding the new field coil to the correct length.
