@TheLongfellah I muted the video bec of stupid radio on that I forgot about :-( I have sliders on my burgman 400 for like two years.. I love them... last longer, lower the RPM at high speed, better mpg, take off better, smoother the ride.... the original sliders... you mean the ROLLERS that is a round shape.. I don't like rollers. Sliders on my vespa is awesome :)

Just wanted to say thanks.. Because of the videos you have posted I have been able to install Dr. Pulley sliders, an HID conversion, and a Remus exhaust on my Vespa all myself. Im sure I saved several hundred dollars in shop labor!

This was a big help as I was reassembling mine. I stopped and referred to the video to confirm that it was going back together right. Thanks for the video. I agree with Doug's comment about seating the belt deeper in the clutch. It's not hard to pull the clutch plates apart to slide the belt into before reinstalling. That's easier to do than rotating the variator.

Hey Doug, yeah making sense, I didn't do deeper, I just rotate the front to get it settle in, I checked the belt few months ago, still doing fine... but thanks for posting it on here so others can read

I have no idea what I'm doing. Just want to make sure no tightening of the belt is necessary? It just slides on? Also, could you post a link to the exact parts I'll need for a 2009 GTS 250 to change the belt and the sliders you'd recommend over the rollers? Thanks man! Nobody in the Reno area will work on a scooter older than 9 years!

deeper? then you would pinch the belt when you torque the nut...

One point of note is that the belt should be seated deeper into the clutch pulley.

HI Mitch, Does the variator tool you made out of the old outer face work to loosen the variator nut as well? Thanks! Great video!

No, deeper into the clutch pulley which is the rear pulley. This frees up the front pulley and makes it less likely that you would pinch while tightening up the front. (I'm DougL on MV by the way and love your videos. However, the belt is DEFINITELY not in the right place in the rear pulley in your video. Have a look on the MV wiki... Bests Doug

Sure , it hasn't got a wet clutch , so car oil is fine to use in a scooter .

Interesting… I have a GT200 coming in for service soon, I stopped post scooter videos on this channel since 2013… all scooter videos i post on my other channel @mitchsscooterstuff
