With that 'charity', money spent on a veteran probably means less productivity or xmas bonus for the hangers on. There are much worthier and more honourable veteran's charities out there. Unfortunately some good ones were taken over by lefties or the NHS who then dispensed with the staff, leaving no one to empathise or understand vets issues. The RBL was formed after WW1 to control and divert veterans genuine grievances away from the establishment, revolution was in the air across Europe and they needed to dilute and dissipate the anger and frustration in the UK. The leadership were in essence a buffer to absorb the punches from the mob, then divert attention or lessen the emotional responses.

Maybe Iraq and Afghanistan should pay.

The RBL were taken over some years ago by lefty liberals, professional charity hangers on who drift from charity to charity, they don't care about the cause, just their wage. I heard that in the National HQ anyone with a military past was eased out, the county offices were all closed, so there are no local reps. I realised years ago they had become a toothless scam, all they do is assess the veteran or family then pass their case over to the relevant charity, agency or institution. The branches and clubs are closing down left right and centre, better to actually give a homeless vet some change for a coffee or meal. At least it goes to the person deserving it.

Boycott. Cancel your membership and put them out of business. You can start your own version of this organisation
