My old Xena girl passed on yesterday morn.. she had the cough but it went away.. however, she was still getting "winded" on short walks and collapsing in need of a rest often. I sensed it was something with her heart so I started looking at everything you posted on congestive heart failure, but I still wasn't sure if that's what I should treat her for ..until we got Xrays! Her poor heart was being suffocated by congestion. Unfortunately she got worse & worse after the Vet appointment and the anti congestion meds (first a shot at the Vet's) then, her pills.. By the time I got the Hawthorn Berry, she only survived to get one dose.. but I saw how the Hawthorn & CBD Worked nicely together and she took comfort right away from it.. now I know exactly what to do soon as I hear that cough! I've got 2 other elderly girls. I wanted to warn folks though.. just because the cough goes away does NOT mean they're getting better. Especially if elderly, have them checked out asap!

I am so very sorry about your loss in Xena girl! I really appreciate hearing about your experience and the symptoms that Xena had and enlightening others' on what presented so we can take heed, but also not have false hope because a symptom might go away.... and every individual is diverse and precious and will show singular characteristics. Of course we all want to run to a vet to try and determine what is happening, but that does not always preclude a miracle in the outcome. No doubt Xena knew your enormous love connection in all you did for her. It is so commendable that Dr. Jones has taken this departure to be so creative in his paradigm to decide to share information, especially for some who do not have the funds to repeatedly go to the vet. Dr. Jones is a soulful exemplar, a compassionate indispensable treasure to all of us.

Sadly, we learned this week a specific type of coughing that means your dog is having a cardiac issue. Our dear Labrador girl went from happy and acting half her age to dead in about fifteen minutes. My husband tried to massage her heart to try CPR, but her attack was too fast for anything to be done. She'd had a coughing episode earlier in the day, but as she had laryngeal paralysis, a little cough spell was not off in itself. As she was back to herself quickly with a little honey, both her vet and we decided to monitor her. She seemed her happy Labby self (ball, food, wag, nap) for the rest of the day until it hit. Perhaps you could share a video with any possible signs and symptoms that denote cardiac? Maybe our sudden loss can help avoid one for someone else.

My dog coughs like she’s got something in her throat and is either sick or brings up clear or white / yellow stuff And she sometimes has what looks like she’s trying to catch her breath like you can see her pulling air in and out like a honk nose She kinda goes stiff during this Can last anything from a few seconds to 20 seconds and it scares me, she’s always fine after and wags her tail will even be playful as normal Is this anything to worry about It is every couple weeks this happens.

I had a Siberia husky chow mix and he ran off one day. Finally found him 2 weeks later at the pound. He had A terrible cough. Vet said it was kennel cough. Long story short it wasn't kennel cough. Vet showed me x-rays and he had cancer quite bad up and down his esophagus. Vet said he also found a bunch of lead in him...someone shot him with pellets and more than likely the cause of the cancer. I did research on where he was seen and etc...u was mad. Found who shot him with lead. So had to put my sweet boy down. I talked to others and I switched him to an all raw beef diet and other stuff and that extended his life almost by 6 months! Your dog coughs alot please get him checked out!

@@soal3415 I'm sorry you lost your boy and he was hurt and suffered so horribly...Chow Chow breads get a bad rap like pit bulls. My husband's family wanted him to take ours out to a friend's farm so they could shoot him! He was less than a year old....just because he was a Chow. Such a loyal dog. They didn't shut up until I told them if he took that dog out there for their sick sport, that I would be sit down on the ground next to him...they never stepped foot in our yard again and that dog knew I hated them for what they tried to do to us. He lived 11 years. When we had to put him down he let us know he couldn't do it any longer, but tried very hard to hang on. The day we put him down my husband cried like a child...stayed in bed 3 days and couldn't go to work. I had l lost pets before, but this was his first..... A few days later we saw a puppy that looked like him and my husband crumbled on the ground sobbing....Chippy had fulfilled his purpose...he humbled a man that came from a family that considers animals filthy, and undeserving, with no intelligence or feeling for mankind. Ever since we had Chippy, he put his hunting guns up and has gone out of his way to rescue stray dogs lost found running on highways. We will never have another Chippy...my husband says...."He was IT!" But we have 2 rescue pit mixes, and a bossy English Cocker that has him tied around her tail....he cooks for them...takes them for rides around the lake in his Jeep when the ground is too muddy and always makes sure they are rewarded when he comes home. I'm sorry I didn't respond sooner. Just saw your post....One day I hope people are physically put in jail, fined heavily, and assigned to work with abused and abandoned animals as a community service for a minimum of 12 months. It could change them.

They can cough because they've been fed grain free diets, have an enlarged heart, and have symptoms of Dilated Cardiomyopathy as well.
@susanchristiansen2261
@susanchristiansen2261 2 жыл бұрын
Interesting...can you expand upon a grain free diet causing a dog to cough? My Silky goes into coughing fits, usually always due to excitement, but also in the middle of the night. I have not fed her grains for the 5 years I have had her since adopting her at 10 years old. She is 15 1/2 years now but looks and acts incredibly healthy but just has the violent coughing/sneezing/gagging fits. She did have dental issues however, before I adopted her from a neighbor who passed away and then last year her teeth more teeth had to be removed. I thought maybe the two could be connected...dental issues causing infection in trachea. Also she rubs her ears and I check them and can not find mites. She was on an antibiotic when she had a dental a year ago. She was diagnosed with trachea collapse but her trachea collapse happened following severe relentless coughing for 3 weeks in Feb 2020 when covid started.. I read dogs can get covid. I thought that might be her case. I stayed up with her for 3 weeks giving her steam, patting on the back, aromatherapy and she made it through but has since had the trachea issue. I thought perhaps her trachea was damaged from the severe coughing for 3 weeks. It doesn't sound like there is a cure and at this point I am considering putting her down, I hate to say it, because of her age and there being no cure that has been mentioned by vets or anyone else. I have a theory the trachea never has a chance to heal because it is aggravated by intermittent coughing. She doesn't cough all the time now, just a couple times during the night and anytime she gets excited and usually in the morning when she gets up. It is so loud I am amazed such a loud sound can come from such a small dog...12 pounds. I am concerned that she suffers from it. She has gotten worse this winter. I do think I notice she gets better at times depending on diet but I haven't identified what diet works for her. I do feed her raw at times. Any dietary insights you can give me I would appreciate because your post caught my eye when you said grain free diets can be the cause and I have fed her grain free for the entire 5 years I have had her. Thank you so much!

Desperately need your advice. Took our 17 pound dachshund to vet after his bark was almost completely gone about a month ago. (He is ten years old). They prescribed amoxicciillan for 10 days, he is on day 9. Her suspicions were collapsed trachea. His bark has greatly improved, but he has a somewhat gagging sound several times after drinking water, but never after food. The after water gagging cough was never a problem until he lost his bark. If it is collapsed trachea, why does it only bother him when he consumes water and not food which is thicker than water? We just can't figure it out, we are baffled...

You guys: just make sure you don’t give propolis to your dog that has alcohol in it. A lot of the propolis I get from Brazil has it (mine at home has “álcool de cereais”, wheat alcohol I think...many times they use corn alcohol as well), which is normal since it’s very concentrated propolis and allows the propolis turn liquid for consumption (propolis is basically the waxy substance bees make to keep the honeycomb together - it’s nature’s superpowers anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, etc, we use it when we get a cold and sore throat, mix 20-25 drops on a tablespoon with honey (for human adults), it’s super bitter but super potent, nature’s super remedy. Basically, don’t give that type of Propolis with alcohol to your dog bc alcohol is TOXIC to dogs. The spray one Dr Jones used in this video almost looks like one I got from Amazon that’s not bitter, feels quite tame compared to the normally strong Brazilian propolis liquid drops. If it’s the same one it’s called Beekeeper’s Natural, propolis throat spray. It doesn’t have propolis but has vegetable glycerin, which I think is what gives it the sweet taste. Although, it’s a type of sugar, which I’m not sure but it may possibly not be good for dogs, specially if giving it on a regular basis, since sugar, like salt, is bad for dogs. Certainly don’t give anything with sugar if you have a dog with cancer since cancer feeds on sugar. Hopefully Dr Jones or someone else can read this and clarify for sure. Thanks for reading and have a good day/night ☀️ 🌙 👋

Sadly my mini aussie has tracheal collapse. He gained weight from having 2 surgeries, he's lost 10 pounds now which is good. Although every time he get up he coughs and gags just like tula did. It's like he has something in his throat. Ut happens exspecially after a long rest like getting up in the morning or when he gets excited. Thank you so much for this video. I just dont trust the doctors in my town. They seem to be all about the money and they aren't very good. I wish so much I could take my special needs boy to you. He has hyperkeratosis on his front paws, allergic atopy, he's had 2 surgeries (luxating patella his kneecap was off to the side and he broke his elbow in half and has a big rod and pins holding it together), he definitely has tracheal collapse. It's very sad what my baby has and is going through. 😞 I feed him hydroligized protein to help with his digestive issues and the atopy. Tula is way to cure and sweet! 🐕💖

mf lanese Dr Jones is a MUCH BETTER VET than those who care more about money than animals. Just as it is with human doctors, with a vast amount of veterinary surgeons Big Pharma is the controlling factor in most ways. The perks that some get for the treatment are very lucrative. Big Pharma doesn’t want them to use more beneficial ways to cure your pet or livestock. Big Pharma makes false claims about products, they falsely or fudge research results. That’s if they actually test the efficacy of a new drug. Chemical side effects that cause anything up to the death of animals, including humans, aren’t mentioned or a fancy name that doesn’t get looked up, e.g Mercury, used in vaccines is the deadliest metal in the periodic table but thimerosal, a compound of mercury is the name on the list of ingredients. That’s if your doctor or nurse actually bothers/has time to read it before administering it. They use it as a preservative. It can pass the blood brain barrier and cause all sorts of problems. The liver and kidneys alongside every cell of your body is under attack. I can’t imagine how any medical practitioner doesn’t know this. It’s basic chemistry. So, there must be another reason that this and other dangerous chemicals are taken, applied to our body’s largest organ, the skin, and injected straight into the bloodstream mustn’t there? Yes, as not only will they be losing revenue by using natural, safe age old remedies BUT, they can and do, LOSE THEIR LICENSE or in the case of doctors that go against one of the most powerful controllers in the world by treating with miracle cures against cancer, LOSE THEIR LIFE!!! Have you not heard of the #DeadDoctors news? Why the extreme punishments? Because, for one, the natural remedies work and the others made by pharmaceutical companies don’t. Ergo, their empires would collapse. Anything that is natural cannot get an exclusive patent to be used only by the the manufacturer. In other words they can’t make it exclusive to them only and make a fortune for it. Natural remedies, unless the plant or or element is very rare, are far less lucrative than manufactured drugs. Ever heard of the saying, “Follow the money”? Not only has Dr Jones a real love of healing animals but he really cares enough to make a profound decision to go against Big Pharma that has taken away his professional qualifications and lost his livelihood he studied years for, (animal doctors training is two or three years longer) his continued treatment and alternative natural remedies could threaten his life if he made and pushed cures! So, anyone who thinks that there is something shady about Dr Jones or that he’s only in it to get rich, think again... This sorry, evil state of affairs is coming to an end. Big Pharma has an adversary that they haven’t had since inception... 😘

Hello Alex, I have a little King Charles X Yorky, Louis. He’s ten in October. Since starting him on Dr Jones supplement he’s so much more boisterous, mischievous and hungry and happier. His clicky back knees aren’t nearly so bad. I had to keep clicking them back in but hardly ever do now. He even jumps up on my bed again! He had trouble doing that for years. I use and know almost all the ingredients in Dr Jones supplement. It can only do good things for your baby especially as he’s diabetic. Much love from England ❤️

my dog is at home all the time, we barely go out for a walk or a trip. She's 10 or older, she's a miniature poodle, her cough sounds worse than this one. I'm very worried about her, it's been going on for a few months, and we took her to the vet but my dad didn't tell me much, I feel he doesn't want to because it's hard for him to talk about it since he lost many dogs during his lifetime and it's painful for him to admit that a new dog he loves is going to die soon too. However, I have a feeling that what he doesn't want to tell me is that my dog is suffering from a tracheal collapse, I can tell, I looked this up and I feel my dog's trachea is getting smaller. I don't want my dog to suffer anymore, she and I have a very strong bond, and I want to ease her pain. My dad did tell me a few things, such as getting her medication to aid her bronchi so they can open up and she can breathe better. Her heart is very strong, though, and she's probably suffering from a cold. However, he did lately started suggesting that she may have tracheal collapse, but he didn't confirm it. I don't know what to do, I'm very worried about her, I need all the help I can get, and I'm not rich enough to afford more vet visits.

my dog spent about 3 mos with this cough, off and on. His vet said, oh that's the nurophathy from diabetes. But it was laryngeal paralysis, which started from the nurophathy I'm sure. But it can be from rough leash use, tight collar use, pulling puppies... Please do not use a collar to teach ur puppy to walk. They pull... This laryngeal paralysis took my dogs life. Bc he couldn't have the surgery. He was a 12 yr old diabetic and suffered from pancreas diseases too Use a head harness, like a haulty. Haul-ty. That's a brand name and spelling maybe different.

Is there anyway to differentiate kennel cough and tracheal collapse? My dog has had a cough for about 12 days now. We took him to the vet on the 3rd day of his cough and he was prescribed antibiotics and cough medication. His symptoms have not improved or gotten worse. I have tried honey, cough suppressants. When I listen to dogs cough with tracheal collapse and kennel cough they sound the same to me and my dog sounds like all of them.

Rubberduckyy 06 we went back to Vet as his symptoms had not improved. He was prescribed a cough suppressant with hydrocodone. That seemed to help a lot. I should also add that my other showed same symptoms but his coughs were only 1-2 a day. Then my cat started showing symptoms and began cough as well. I kept getting mixed information about kennel cough being transmitted from dog to cat or vice versa. I’m still not sure if it can be transmitted, the most common answer is yes it can but is extremely rare. Anyway this is about 7 weeks since my small yorkie/shihtzu started coughing and he’s finally improved to about a cough every 2 days or so. I should add that I monitored him constantly, made sure he drank a lot of water (mixed it in w food) gave him steam showers and reduced his activity so he could rest. I’m not sure what he and my other pets had but whatever it was took a long time to get rid of.
@sayzahr
@sayzahr 3 жыл бұрын
Rubberduckyy 06 You should keep a log of how many times a day he coughs as this really helped me gauge how far along he was progressing. I’m not sure if that’s something you can do since I work from home and he’s like my shadow so it wasn’t hard for me. I also noticed that most of the coughing was done as soon as he woke up and then tapered off the later in the day it got. I also should mention my dogs had been around 2 other dogs weeks prior who frequent dog day cares and one was being trained at the local pet smart so the possibility of it being kennel cough was probably more likely. However having the cat show the same symptoms kind of threw me off. I think the fact that my dogs are a bit older (10) contributed to the length of the illness but they are super healthy dogs as well. Oh also they started to sneeze and reverse sneeze more often than coughing for a while there too not sure if your guy has any of those other symptoms which point more towards an upper respiratory infection as opposed to tracheal collapse.
