I’m liking the frequent vids. I’ll try to like and comment as many as I can. And kudos for not sealing the tank with that liner crap. I’ve spent hours of my life trying to get the disbonded chunks of that liner out of tanks when it started breaking up and clogging the fuel system. That stuff would be fine in theory, but only if perfectly applied under perfect conditions, with perfect surface prep that you’re not gonna recreate in a garage on an old tank. There’s a reason tanks dont come with that liner already in them. Its because perfect application is very difficult, even on a new tank in a controlled factory environment. it causes more problems than it solves.

I have used the liner before, but have yet to get to the point in time when it starts breaking up. Got it in the GROM tank. But yeah, I have started to rethink it for exactly the reasons you've mentioned.

Try electroplating to remove rust with an iron rod and a car battery. Draw rust off the tank to the rod.

Drop that fuel filler cap into an ultrasonic parts cleaner.
