This is Amazing. They are very beautiful and it really really impresses me how you make them look so clean and nice even when they are long Last time I made a vfx graph asset in unity I got lost after 2 hours and it took me a lot of feedback to get it to look how I wanted it to look from the beginning. Seeing the one with the flowers and rain which was also long and also stunning is incredible. Great work :)

Yours look like amazing amount of experience and a good intuitive feeling about everything. Care to share some basics to get started creating such wonderful art like yours? What blows my mind is that these are no standard animations but you have a diverse portfolio which also includes pixel art. Truly amazing!
@careblol
@careblol Жыл бұрын
Oh wow, thank you for comment! Unity can be quite overwhelming at first, but it gets easier if you break it down one at a time. Always start small and work your way up. If it gets too complex for you, step back and try again later. A strong foundation is a powerful asset for creating effects. As long you have fun, that's all that matters. Gabriel Aguiar's channel helped me learn the basics and I created my own effects after I became confident enough. Hope this helps!

These look amazing! I've always wondered what the workflow is for these sorts of effects. Are you programming shaders or something else? Would really love a rundown of the process or at least some pointers to resources.
@careblol
@careblol Жыл бұрын
It's all thanks to the particle system (shuriken) and the shader graph! I used the shader graph in order to create an erosion effect and even the pixel bit style. I don't have any tutorials at the moment, but a few people has been asking about it and I took note for something I might do in the future. If I could provide a recommendation, check out Gabriel Aguiar's channel! He's the first one that allowed me to learn the basics of Unity's particle system and provides thorough tutorials.

@careblol
@careblol 4 ай бұрын
Thank you! It took awhile, but yes, I was able to get a job that will help me get that first step. When it comes to applying for jobs in the game industry, it's important that the portfolio matches what they're looking for. A portfolio with stylized effects for a studio that specializes in the same style speaks louder than everything else. Give them what they want to see. Since you are looking into game VFX, try to find the art style that you like and go from there. If you have an idea of what you want to create, then act on that before it goes away. Thankfully KZfaq has a ton of free tutorials that can help you get started on the fundamentals and grow from there. It is a field where you are always learning and it never ends, but that's where the fun comes in!

It's a single mesh being rendered and emitted in the particle system! I created a simple model of a flower petal in Blender, then controlled how many particles I can emit in the inspector (in this case, it's a burst). The rest are textures and one additional model of a seed core. It's a simple, yet effective way to create an awesome blooming flower!
