[VHS修復更新] マリオとヨッシーの冒険ランド | (2018 UPDATE) Mario to Yoshi no Bouken Land VHS Restoration

6 жыл бұрынReleased to celebrate the original edition's 1 milllion+ views, magiblot has given the VHS restoration of the Super Mario World anime a further look and tweaked more things!
Among the differences?
1) The Terebikko setup screen at the start is now included!
2) Further efforts have been made to remove vertical lines
3) the subtitles have been adjusted, by request of some prior commenters, to be more literal to the original Japanese.
EDIT: For those who want the western names (and the removal of foul language) select the "English (Canada)" subs.
EDIT 2: The Gag subs are back! Set sub track to "English (United Kingdom)"
EDIT 3: Gag subs are gone again. Blame COPPA. If you really want them, ask privately.
The previous upload will be maintained until all the other subtitle scripts have been updated for this version.

FUN FACT: The voice of the red Yoshi was Ikue Otani, who would later go on to voice Pikachu in the Pokémon anime.

The animation in this Super Mario World anime on VHS looks a lot better than the Super Mario World cartoon and faithful to the game, but why is the Princess' hair color still the same like the one in the cartoon because the game gave the Princess' hair color blonde.

Fun fact: The voices of Mario and Luigi are the same ones from that Mario anime movie from 1986. Also, they're the only VAs from the anime movie who have reprised their roles.

Why wasn't THIS the cartoon we got? It's not only faithful, but has pretty good animation with little to no mistakes and repeated frames (For Anime standards). So many references to the game were included! It was honestly just an adorable and cute adventure from start to finish. Funnily enough, even the Clown Car battle's more climatic considering that Mario doesn't make any lazy puns & Bowser puts up quite a fight! It adds tension unlike the cartoon where he's easily dealt with in 10 seconds.

Surprisingly, I noticed how Luigi's words at the end are almost the same as the ones in The Super Mario Bros. Movie: "When we work together, we have nothing to fear!" and "Nothing can hurt us, as long we're together!" respectively. It's very likely coincidental but still nice all the same how you can see Mario and Luigi's brotherly bond both here in the Super Mario World Terebikko OVA and in the movie. 驚いたことに、最後のルイージの言葉がザ・スーパーマリオブラザーズ・ムービーのそれとほとんど同じであることに気づいた： 「僕らの仲が戻ったら、怖いものなどありゃしないって！」「一緒にいる限り、僕らを傷つけるものは何もない！」スーパーマリオワールドてれびっこOVAでも、映画でも、マリオとルイージの兄弟の絆が感じられるのは、偶然だろうが、やはり素敵なことだ。 (私はまだ日本語を勉強中なので、この文章が日本語で理解できることを願っています)

The point of this VHS Anime, is that it was only educational... It used a kind of Phone to interact the answers or things that the movie is intended to show, as like a pre-school learning show (Dora the Explorer is an example)....

Very interesting to see the experimental Mario voices before they settled with Martinet for all languages. That has to be the highest honor of being the voice of the most popular character ever for both languages with no changes unless its outside the games.

0:58 I like seeing Peach being friends with Yoshi. I can't think of any games where she interacts with him at all, except the spinoffs like Mario Kart, Mario Party, etc. where they're just two members of a large roster of characters. It's nice seeing just them, being friendly with each other.

It's actually kinda peculiar, when I think about it. In theatrical anime Luigi called Mario "Aniki", but it seems "nii-san" stuck from this entry into the Satellaview games.

Here's a fun fact: over the last few months, I've been creating a "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" PowerPoint that is based off of "Mario & Yoshi's Adventure Land". I did this because "Millionaire" is my favorite game show, and I thought, "What better way than to win virtual money as a reward for helping Mario and his friends?" Right now, it's not quite finished just yet, but it's technically playable.

We westerners really missed out on something. I wish Nintendo in the 90s actually had the American Mario animated series influenced from and solely replicated Kotabe’s art style like here. Super Show and World was okay, but this is much better in my opinion. This isn’t even the only japanese animated mario film thats accurate to Mario and the rest of the characters design

7:13 Yoshi was supposed to swallow red koopaling shell for fire breathing. And Mario when touches the Star, he supposed to be invincible. But instead, it gave him Fire Flower. From Super Mario Bros. Super Show Intro.

As a kid I never understood this game's story outside of beating it and rescuing the princess. I always had questions on why they were there. Didn't even bother to read the manual. Fast forward to my 30th year of living, I'm watching it in Japanese; understanding it fully.

As much as I love the Super show and the Mario Movie, I find this superior despite not being a movie you see in theatres or a tv show. Because Luigi has more involvement here and it is closer to the video games than the Super show
