Action from this round of the 1981 European Rally Championship, which attracted an unusually high level of entries from the United Kingdom, including Rothmans Escort driver Malcolm Wilson. Originally produced by CyBC (Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation). Sadly, the absence of any closing titles makes it impossible to identify the commentator. Converted from VHS TV recording. So many cars, amazing. It is always interesting to watch a story through an old camera than to watch a rally today in 4k devoid of soul.

Marvellous. Great to see so many private entries in cars you would never expect to see rallying in such an event, from the dual use shopping car/rally car VW Beetle to the Audi 80 saloon, Fiat Strads and Lada 1600, and other diversity in entries from a Ford works RS1800 driven by Malcolm Wilson to the Cambridge University car club in a Talbot Sunbeam Ti.
