This is not a movie btw. It's a Netflix series called Heeramandi, created by the same person as Deewani Mastaani, Ghoomar Ghoomar etc. Sanjay Leela Bhansali sir is the king of aesthetics and portrayal of divine femininity through his projects, that's kinda his brand. And this series in particular is set during Colonial India, Lahore(now in Pakistan) and the story depicts the life and business of the tawaifs(courtesans), their struggles, stigmas, their contribution to the Indian freedom movement. I'd say you can check it out sometime for yourself even if you don't react to it on this channel. However I'd definitely love to see you react to atleast all the songs from this series. You should definitely react to 'Tilasmi Baahein' after this.

The walk she did is called "Gaj Gamini". This walk is mentioned in Hindu epic Mahabharata and Hindu scripture Kamsutra too. This one is for describing that a woman is beautiful, no matter how her body is. Draupadi in Mahabharata was also called a Gaj Gamini. This word means, someone who walks like an elephant.

Gabriel's commentary, evaluation, appreciation is some what surprising to me. I also find this song voice, music, cinematography, the dancers the whole set incredibly mesmerizing... amazing work done by the director Sanjay Bhansali.... etc. etc. people... in addition to all these is the song writer in HINDI language.... amazingly melodious MEANINGFUL words as well.... Even without speaking or understanding the HINDI language words of this song, Gabriel and many others finding this song so NICE.... that is nice for me to know and learn..... 😊 And Gabriel seem to have good style of facial expression and verbal describing as well..

Turaz, wish the world understood Indian music. I recall my friend in US, then in 1999, said Lata Mangeshkar was too sharp. Today, westerners realise that her's was a voice that traced out of the instruments deep towards the horizon. She required no instrument actually. A singer followed by nearly 2 billion people across the world. And Oscar ignored her death. Shame on Oscar. We didnt lose anything. Oscar did for sure.
