Via ferrata to the Red Bench Pass was set parallel to the hiking trail. Its length is 430 m. Time of passage: 30-40 min. Its difficulty was estimated on the level "A", so it belongs to the easiest roads of this type. There are no technical difficulties on it, but if you choose it, you should have high-mountain experience. It is not suitable for people with a fear of heights. It is recommended to use a via ferrata set.
Because the route is one-way, it is possible to ascend to the pass only from the side of the Five Spiš Mountain Lakes. The best way is to descend from the pass on the other side, towards Zbojnícka Hut. However, if you like a lot of excitement, you can descend from the saddle back to the Téry Hut, using a series of chains on the tourist trail.
Although the via ferrata itself does not take much time, it is necessary to reserve 8-9 hours for the whole route with the starting and ending point at the upper chairlift station on Hrebienok.
Apart from via ferrata, to the Red Bench leads also yellow tourist trail. Looking from the side of the Five Spiš Mountain Lakes, about 400 m of the final part of this trail is equipped with chains and buckles. As there are two parallel sequences of chains, the movement can be done in both directions. However, the easiest way is to ascend to the pass from the Téry Hut and descend towards the Zbojnícka Hut.
