Adrian OK, it is not as scary as the program exchange logo in the 80s and early 90s. After that, I liked the program exchange logo from 93-08 it was calm after that.

The 1971 pinball logo, the 1976 V of Doom logo (Videotaped version) and the 1990 Viacom logo (specifically the flute version at <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="700">11:40</a>) are my favorite Viacom logos, I like those logos

Both the "Pinball" and "V of Doom" were PRETTY SCARY for me. Oh, and the first logo I've seen of this Viacom was the "Silver V", when I was searching for "Nickelodeon Productions" logos and it appeared at the end of the famous "Double Dare"! I never imagined that while searching!

The early logos through to 87 sound very close to the 70s era CBS Newsradio jingle package, used prominently at WCBS but also at other stations not always part of the CBS affiliates. The five notes with the last note held is the same pattern and has got to be related somehow.

It was pronounced Vea-com before Redstone took over. Then it became VIacom.

@@sharpfalcon6196 because, when you look at it, it's very easy to mispronounce. It could go either way. So, the VO artist in the booth was likely unaware. I only know about the two distinct pronunciations because I once interviewed the man who founded Viacom, Ralph Baruch, and he was VERY adamant about calling it VEA-com. Redstone took it over in 1986.
