Took the Boys (Luke and K-Dog) to get their first threadfin salmon on lures in our local Mackay region recently and found the mother load! K-dog got them going with his special burley and bulk fish were caught on soft vibes and the new 95mm Nomad Vertrex Swim was a standout. Keep your eye out for these in your local they just got released today, cool concept from Nomad Design with a soft vibe that swims on the drop and I've been lucky enough to be involved in the testing of these throughout the prototype stage!
I fished my light setup which is a Dobyns Champion Extreme 701SF, a 2500HGS Vanquish, pe1 Sunline Siglon ADV and a 40lb FC Rock leader. Bloody nice combo to use and the rod, while being super light packs some serious punch making for some really fun hookups.
Not all fish survived on this light gear so we filled the Yeti, but those which were healthy were released, definitely not a bad thing though because these things are ridiculously tasty!!
