What to expect when you are replacing your self Spark plugs in your vehicle. In our case one of the sockets was manufacture defect, and it was partially glued and in results, was slightly damaged, but then repaired with JB Weld.

🚙A bad, old or dirty spark plug can cause the engine to misfire. If the problem is ignored or you continue to drive, this can spread to the spark plug wires, catalytic converter, or ignition coils which can lead to a very costly repair.
🚙Common Engine Misfire Symptoms
Depending on the type of misfire and what caused it, you will notice one or more of the following misfire symptoms:
Engine Vibrations
Loss of power
Shaking / Vibrations Noticeable at Low RPMS and idle
Vibrations go away at high RPMS typically over 3000
Engine Stalls in some cases
Poor Engine Performance
Check Engine Light
Fuel / Gasoline smell from exhaust
Blinking Check Engine Light
🚙You most likely will get one of the following codes
If you are reading fault codes such as P0301 through P0312, that means that most likely the problem is with one of the cylinders misfiring. This is due to a bad spark plug, spark plug wire or ignition coil issue.
If you are reading a P0301 through P0312 code plus another code, let say P0100. It is very likely that the P0100 fault code which refers to a malfunction in the mass air flow sensor circuit is also causing the misfire codes and even a limp home mode. Lime home mode means the transmission gets stuck in gear, typically in second gear.
The bottom line is that you need to research all the codes that your OBD-II scanner retrieves from the ECU. Now let’s talk about some of the most common reasons that cause engine misfire and check engine light on in a Mercedes-Benz car.
Spark Plugs
Mercedes spark plug engine misfire The #1 cause of Mercedes engine misfire is old spark plugs. Spark plugs don’t last forever. They are wear and tear items. Standard copper spark plugs last up to 30k miles while iridium and platinum spark plugs can last over 60,000 miles. If your Mercedes-Benz has over 80,000 miles and still has the original spark plugs, it makes sense to change the spark plugs before you pour money on any other repair. New spark plugs will make your engine run smoother, and you will even see an improvement in gas mileage. Rember that Mercedes-Benz V6 and V8 engines utilize two spark plugs per cylinder. That is typical in Mercedes-Benz engines such as M112 M113 M272 M273 found on E, C, S, CL, CLK, ML, GL, G, R, SLK Class. For example, if you have an E320 (M112 engine) or E350 (M272) your car has six cylinders but requires 12 spark plugs.

Next time, lightly lube threads on new plug, add dielectric grease inside coil boot, torque plugs to 17 ft. Lbs.

Hi, thank you so much for this video. I have a Mercedes-Benz C3 00 2008 and my car was shaking and also the engine light was on and blinking. I just recently got a tuneup with you. No new spark plugs new coils and it’s still shaking. My question is, is there anything that I need to do to stop the shaking it’s not shaking bad, but it’s shaking it’s vibrating and the engine light is still on so if you can help, that would be a huge blessing by the way yes I liked your video and I am subscribing because I feel like you will be my KZfaq mechanic. Thank you.

Sure i will share with you. First i have a question, whennit start shaking. My in 2 month after dealer changed oil. Hope you have something simular. Try this. I would change sparkplugs if there's more then 100k on it. Often this is the one major reason for Mercedes-Benz. Coils is ok. Do not brake week connectors plugs on coils. Good sparkplugs cost max$ 30 for all. Second disconnect your battery. Wait minute and plugbut back. You will have to tune your radio again, you will loss memory. Then if car is still shaking, then it is possibly like what i have torque converter, or clutches. I wish i could seat, and feel the shakiness. So if it is started after oil change here what i also did. Catch the momentum when yoir car about to shake and not allow pass that point, raise speed gradually, play with engine, but rase power anyway. What i mean on this. Whennyou accellerate, do not allow shake, in my case, shaking start when i accelerate. So i try to prevent this, and with in about 1 month - two months all was gone. Bow i can push to the metal, and it is pulling like new var. Please give me description of whennit happened, and what kind shaking is. Cheers

Would you say the shaking vibration occurs more at idle, stationary or slower speeds like 5 mph? Always notice a 5 second judder on cold start up then it goes once temp warms up. Is that a symptom of bad spark plug?

Smells like it, the spark plugs and cables is less expensive way to start with, plus it probably do anyway. I would do at lease spark plugs, be careful unplug it as plug is holding by small piece of plastic that I have brake, and then JBWelded.
