I often do this when I don't like vibrato with my pinky I'll do it with my third finger and try to replicate that sound!

You must have hidden powers! I was just practicing when I saw this and lamenting on my mongrel vibrato 😅 I'm optimistic though, I've been working on improving it and I can recognise my development! 💪🏾

No hidden powers! It's just that LOTS of people struggle to fine tune their vibrato. Keep up the good work !

My index finger has a bit different contour. While others are more rounded, my index finger is more of a bullet shape, and If I try to emulate the same thing with it it doesn't work. Instead, I have to put it at lower angle, then it seems ok. Though, I have seen in Your other video that You have also similar shaped fingers.

That is interesting about your fingertip. My finger tips are pretty rounded....but I HAVE seen successful soloists with very narrow, even bony fingertips. One in particular, I cannot remember her name....for the life of me...was a petite woman of Asian descent. I remember observing her fingers and thinking..."If I close my eyes, her hands sound much fatter". But your solution to approach the vibrato with the finger laying down more is perfectly acceptable. Search youtube for a violinist with fingers the same shape as yours.....it will teach you alot. Good luck!
