This is such a straight to the point anime, I love it. No stupid sub-plots or side stories and no fillers either. I love Kaiju No.8, it's perfect.

When they mentioned five years ago, what they meant was a daikaiju-fortitude 8 or higher-not that the kaiju was like No. 8 in appearance or attacks. It’s pretty rare for kaiju to be that high in fortitude. (Or at least it used to be…)

Another great reaction, they are doing a great job with the adaptation and the OST is the best of the season and one of the best I've heard.

Captains and Vice Captains at full power are excessively strong. They don't need to go all out for the lesser kaiju. Imagine if every shot of Mina's gun was as powerful as the ones she used to take the giant one down. And for the record, even a pistol is a cannon in her hands. That's one reason they limit themselves. They'd destroy what they are trying to protect going all out.

Kafka's is actually OP in Kaiju form and am curious to find out whether Kaiju no.9 will return with an actual way to defeat him, as he claimed.

Yeah, the last kaiju close to his Fortitude was Kaiju No 6, dubbed the King of Kaiju. Fortitude 9.6.
