This song really reminds me of my first girlfriend. We have been together for 4 1/2 years and we split up in peace knowing we should date someone else. I always hoped she is going to be alright, but I knew that she was waiting for me. Even after I split up with my next girlfriend after a short relationship she has been there for me. It always has hurt me to know we love each other but can't really be together - many things between us went wrong and it never really changed for the better. We actually both got literally sick... I struggled with depression since I was like 14 or something and it always hurt us as a couple. I wasn't able to show her the love she had really deserved from me and it honestly broke me apart even more. She was like the most amazing girl to me, did everything to make me happy - like seriously everything. It was too much for me and knowing that I love her so much I'd seriously give my life for her, but not being able to show it to her the way I wanted to... It was brutal, not gonna lie. Even after my next kinda long relationship of 8 months she had been there for me again. It has been over 2 years and a few months since then and even a year longer till we broke up and she still has not gotten into any new relationship. It sometimes feels like she is still waiting for me like this girl sings in the song, while I can honestly feel what this guy is singing as well. Crazy, but I think this is how life goes sometimes.
