That ain't no joke, I was once mesmerized by a world famous yo-yo guy... music is different though, other things can hit your sense of wonder, amazement, curiosity but music tends to touch you right at your core... it touches your heart and soul.

To be fair, I watched this several times before Portnoy played, it but Mike did a great job for such a limited time. this is a complex song in a style that is hard to replicate & he did the best job out of all the covers, I have seen on KZfaq.

This song alone is worth paying $10 a month for life to never have to see another commercial.

The thing is, are we interested only in the final product or in the fact that behind something like Pneuma there’s four human beings, not only their musical skills but actually their whole lives, their thoughts, their view of the world. Our only chance for a healthy relationship with AI is to decide that human experience as a source of ideas and solutions (not only artistic crafts) is something we want to preserve and that we consider almost “sacred”. Chris Allen hell yes. I have been absolutely dying for live material in any form from them other than salival for 20 years. I have spent hundreds if not thousands of hours cultivating and remastering live audio from them. I watched the video. Then i closed my eyes and played it again. So happy. I will be remastering this as well, but thank god ill finally have very little to do. Just gonna make it a little more filled out with the other instruments and voila... absolutely the best live recording since salival.

This footage that we’re all marvelling over is obviously a collaboration between Vic Firth & Tool, but given Tool’s reluctance to release a live DVD, I’d be very surprised if they gave Vic Firth permission to release any more of this incredible stuff.
