This is the first Public Peformance by this Konnakkol Duo...Shri Somshekar Jois and V Shivapriya.
Shri Jois is a whizhard and so passionate about Konnakkol so much so he sacrificed a lucrative RJ job to pursue his passion. He is such a talented artiste and is so popular in the Internet community through his Facebook and KZfaq videos. He is a very busy artist and does a lot of Konnakkol workshops in India and abroad.
V Shivapriya is learning from Ghatam Rajaraman in Chennai, who is the nephew and disciple of Ghatam Maestro VIkku Vinayakram.
Shivapriya is blessed to be assoicated with Shri Jois and he is kind enough to encourge her by give performances along with her.

The bio for Shivapriya is so poorly written. Shri Jois is not simply '' kind enough to encourage her " . She is talented, it's fair and square. Where is the praise for her in his bio and the mentions to his teacher. Such a sexist statement the way you wrote her bio. Which is not actually about her. You praise her teachers who are "kind enough" to allow her to be talented. She IS very talented and obviously diligent and hard working and it shows. Teachers lift us up but the hard work is ours, male or female. P.S. Shivapriya you are amazing in your art and I'm rooting for you to be the best female konnakol singer of your time, if you're not already. Love from Greece!
