Vicseed Easy Clip Phone Car Mount Review

For years I used a windshield suction cup mount to hold my iPhone when on road trips. The problem is that the iPhone would constantly overheat when direct sun hit it. So, I decided to try out a AC Vent type mount and see how that compared. I got the Vicseed Easy Clip mount, and here is my review of it. I use it in both my Jeep Grand Cherokee and Aston Martin Vanquish, and it works great in both cars - much better than the old suction cup mount. However, we'll see in the summer when it's 100º outside if having a vent blocked is still worth it.

Depending on year of grand cherokee (I think 2014+) you can upgrade the uconnect system to one that is carplay capable?

@@BrianGreenstone the suction cup mount on this unit is crazy strong. It's tacky glue like surface. How do you remove it from a window? Takes some serious prying off but that is hard to do on an angled front windshield

Does phone overheat in the winter from heater?

I've never experienced overheating while using this. I used to get overheating with a windshield mounted one because the phone was in direct sunlight, but with this no. I usually don't blow the hot air thru those vents, but when I do, I turn that vent off to prevent it from heating the phone.

Easily the worst phone holder I've ever owned. It shakes so much. I was getting motion sickness looking at the GPS app on my phone. The less expensive ones are much stiffer.

Odd, mine doesn't shake at all. It's completely rigid and as long as the A/C vent itself isn't loose it doesn't move at all.

@@BrianGreenstone your hands on the steering wheel are at 10 and 2, in the event of an airbag deploying your arms are going to get messed up real bad i recently had to re-take my drivers license test and it specifically said that in the olden days of the 80s before airbags, 10 and 2 was the norm, but now it's 4 and 8 (or 5 and 7? i don't remember)
