No one is born "talented" = knowing how and it is all effort. We animals take joy in effort, or not.

Victor Borge was a great entertainer! I love 38:50 when Borge's protege, Jimmy Mahoney plays the Beautiful Blue Danube and I watch Borge's facial expressions- what a riot! Thanks for the laugh-I needed that.

(guest) I've only just found this episode...interesting to see how he developed his humour over the years. Not sure what year this was, but his hair was still dark..... I've mostly seen his later shows, thankfully here on KZfaq, which were superb... " You should have been here earlier - you could have been home by now..." I think his humour was more "concentrated" , later on...I absolutely love it. In the 2 PIANOS part, Victor did what we saw later with Les Dawson and Morecambe and Wise : playing the wrong notes in a famous piece. Victor was the highest paid entertainer in USA at one time... Bless him for his genius in humour.... xx😊🎼🇬🇧🎹😊

Thank you so much for uploading this video. It's fascinating to see how he developed his comedy routines throughout his years and it's a real treat to see others work with him especially Leonid Hambro, one of the greatest pianists ever. There is so much fun in music and to see these Maestro's letting their hair down is really great. Victor Borge and all of those who worked with him will live in our hearts forever.

It is a rare treat to hear Maestro Borge play a piece in entirety though I am not sure that the large choir was a good idea. Such a multi-talented man. May he rest in peace

What I really appreciate in Victor Borge shows is that almost all his jokes seem to revolve around "core" of the main theme, as if it was mostly result of mistakes and disorganization rather then script. So natural and effortless.

Just great stuff. Sergi Franchi was very popular cabaret and musical singer through the eighties and nineties. Sadly, he died at 64 from a brain tumor.

Haters: be aware that recordings can be poor, unable to include the full harmonic series. The choir there at Carnegie Hall was likely impeccable. It was recording limitations and deterioration.

For those unfamiliar B flat major and d minor are the same key signature, and accidentals, which are used in minor scales, must be individually marked. So Victor's joke...they are the same.

What??? Is there no comedian in YOUR mirrors? (I did report the hate speech reply. Although we are ALL inadvertent comedians, hate is not comedy, but mostly just a cheap dagger with which one cuts oneself more than intended victims) I do invite more people to help erase hate comments, so we can get back to life's true purpose, comedy.

Choir were rubbish in the 2 piano section ... sounded more like wild dogs than a choir and he's obviously sponsored by the car company as he featured it in both part1 and this part ... Pontiac. Talk about deliberate advertising. hehe.

Yes...so very very American..which means: rather superfluous and a bit tasteless. Mixing car-ads and classical music -you couldn't do that in Europe.
