Victor Borge plays the Peopleodeon on "I've Got a Secret"

Күн бұрынVictor Borge appears on "I've Got a Secret" (December 12th, 1966) with host Steve Allen and panelists Betsy Palmer, Bill Cullen, Bess Myerson, and Henry Morgan. His secret is "I'm going to play a song by touching 10 pretty girls", which is about as risqué as Goodson-Todman ever got in that era.
He does indeed end up playing "Dark Eyes" on a "Peopleodeon" made up of ten pretty girls. The routine is a bit lame (IGAS was close to the end of its life here) but Victor Borge is always a hoot, so here it is.
The "Peopleodeon" was invented by electronic music pioneers Ted Pandel and Bruce Haack, who are briefly introduced at the end.

He was one of a kind...he appeared at El Camino College in Torrance. I was in the front row. I laughed at the wrong time. He turned to me and asked, "Vhat and vhere did you eat?: :D

It first aired on December 12, 1966, either live or recorded a week earlier. At this time Steve Allen lived in California and traveled to New York every other week for "I've Got a Secret". One program was pre-recorded to air a week later, and the other was usually broadcast live.
